Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone to Reteam for Focus?

21 April 2012 4:35 PM, PDT | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

For many people, Crazy, Stupid, Love was one of the biggest surprises of last year. It's already been reported that directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa will work with Steve Carell again on an untitled comedy about a group of friends who go backpacking in Europe, but now it appears the duo are keen on reteaming with other Crazy, Stupid, Love cast members as well. According to Deadline, they're hoping to pair Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone as the leads in Focus, a con man relationship comedy. The film will tell the story of a veteran con man (Gosling) who falls for a newcomer (Stone) in the grifting game. They have a falling out only to be haunted by their former relationship when they enter each others lives again. While the directors may hope to land Gosling and Stone for the leads, studio insiders say that the offers may not »

Films I Watch When He’s Not There – Confessions of a Cine-Widow

I’ve often said that a great way to get to know a woman is to examine the contents of her handbag. In the same way, a great way to get to know a couple, is to look through their DVD collection.

My husband and I have many films that “mean something” to us – Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (discussed and recited at our first real meeting), numerous Hitchcock films (recognised as a shared passion on the night of our first kiss), Moulin Rouge (our first date film), The Indiana Jones films (we walked out of the church at our wedding to John Williams’ Raiders March), Zoolander (our baby daughter mastered Blue Steel at six weeks of age), and obviously there’s the vast array of films that we constantly quote in an attempt to survive the trials of life, Dodgeball (“Nose and lips!”), Anchorman (“You have man boobs”), Meet the Parents »

Episode Recap: Castle - 2.04: "Fool Me Once..."

20 March 2012 12:22 PM, PDT | PopStar | See recent PopStar news »

Children watch a man via videolink supposedly in the Arctic and he gets killed on camera. Alexis (Molly Quinn) is having violin lessons with Dylan;(Tyler Hoechlin) a hunk whom Castle (Nathan Fillion) strongly objects to since he could end up having designs on her. Castle: "You went male model." Martha (Susan Sullivan) likes Dylan too. Beckett (Stana Katic) tells Ryan (Seamus Dever) she'd have spoiled the surprise if she told Castle about the shooting and where the Db was. Castle: "Do we have jurisdiction in the North Pole?" Well they would have found some way to get there to assume jurisdiction, ha. He thought "it was awesome." Beckett notices a building in the glass which Castle states has classic Upper West Side architecture. Hey he's an exert on buildings too. Wheeler, (David Ramsey) the teacher, saw Steven Fletcher two weeks ago. Watch out for the nifty brochure, »

16 February 2012 7:31 AM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Morena Baccarin — already a part of one of TV’s very best dramas, Homeland — is keeping quite busy during her hiatus from the Showtime hit. Tonight at 10/9, she’s reprising her role of mischievous matchmaker Erica Flynn on CBS’ The Mentalist, and then on March 4 she’ll pay a visit to The Good Wife to accuse Dylan Baker’s Colin Sweeney of, well, the impossible. And that’s not to mention the film she’s shooting next month, starring opposite director Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville).

TVLine spoke with the brunette stunner about her “intense” reunion with Patrick Jane and facing off against Lockhart Gardner, »

Interview: Brian d'Arcy James on Realism, Scope of Smash

18 January 2012 1:02 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Brian d'Arcy James knows a thing or two dozen about Broadway musicals.

The star was nominated for the 2009 Tony Award for Best Performance for a Leading Actor in a Musical for Shrek - The Musical and has also appeared on shows such as Time Stands Still, Next to Normal and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

So how does Smash compare? Does the upcoming NBC series - on which d'Arcy James portrays Frank Houston, the husband of Debra Messing's Julia - accurately portray the world in which Brian has been immersed for so long?

"It depicts it very accurately," d'Arcy James told me over the phone. "Especially how things are developed. The first year season really focuses on the workshop aspect, where the producers can tweak this or that and where the show gets ready for an off-Broadway tryout.

"In this case, we end the season with a performance in Boston."
