Aditya Panscholi's first negative role.

Dharamyudh review :

Sunil Dutt plays the righteous Thakur of a village named Ramgarh (!!!) whose best pal Shatrughan Sinha turns against him after Thakur's younger bro rapes and kills his sister. Aditya Panscholi plays that rapist bhai who commits many murders just to hide his crime.

Loosely inspired from the far superior Bhavani Junction (1985), Dharam Yudh was a decent actioner for the '80s but proved to be a box office dud. It is perhaps the first time Aditya Panscholi played a complete negative character and his performance was quite effective. Kimi Katkar, looking sexy even in lehengaa choli, was the film's sole heroine cast opposite Shatru.

Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni.

Copied not inspired!

As one reviewer claims, it is not loosely inspired by 1985 Indian film 'Bhawani Junction' but a copy of 1985 Pakistani Punjabi film Wadera. Wadera was a very popular film with a marvelous sound track. Dharamyudh even copied couple of its songs, picking the tune and translating Punjabi lyrics to Hindi almost verbatim. As for the quality of this film, user ratings describe it all. I don't have to say anything. Original film - Wadera - and this film too are available on Youtube. See and decide for yourself which one is superior. I will bet my last dollar that Wadera will come out ahead by a few dozen country miles.
