Parents Guide for
Dead Heat (1988) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

A woman is shown with nothing but a towel on.

This same woman is shown disintegrating (see Violence/Gore), and is shown briefly topless. However, she is heavily rotted at this point, and due to it being a puppet, it's more comical than sexual.

Violence & Gore

Frequent heavy violence and some gore. MANY shootings, most of which show large, bloody bullet impacts.

A man explodes. Chunks of gore fly all over.

A woman disintigrates and melts. The scene is short but very gruesome.

A character who can't die gets a finger diced off. Later, we see him badly burned. Additionally, he slowly decomposes throughout the movie.

A man is blown up with a grenade. Not very graphic.

A man is hit with a car and pinned to another. VERY brutal but brief.

Zombies and other monsters are beaten, shot, or maimed.

Keep in mind that much of the violence is played for laughs.

Profanity

Not much.

None.

When one of the main characters perishes in the beginning, some viewers may be distressed.

There's many shootuots, the one in the beginning probably being the most intense.

A character commits suicide.

The melting scene mentioned above may creep out many. However despite being an action-horror movie, much of the film is light-hearted.
