New Poster For Jigsaw Revealed Ahead Of San Diego Comic-Con

8 July 2017 10:52 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Throughout the years there has always been franchises in horror who dominate the the genre. For example, we have Freddy in A Nightmare on Elm Street, Chucky in Child's Play and Jason in Friday the 13th. Besides franchises like The Conjuring, the most dominating horror franchise has to be Saw. It's very interesting that James Wan had a part in creating both of them. The first film earned over $100 million worldwide on a budget of only $1.2 million, this spawned six sequels to this day.

The not so secret to making these films successful was to follow the path of the first Saw film, which was to keep the budget low. When Saw VI only made $70 million, it was Ok because it only cost $11 million to make. The last film that the franchise released, Saw 3D, had really bad critical and fan reception. For the time many of us thought that »

He's Not Gone Yet - Official Trailer for 'Cult of Chucky' Horror Sequel

3 July 2017 9:10 AM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"Hi, I'm Chucky. Wanna play?" He's back for more! An official trailer has debuted for the latest Chucky doll film, titled Cult of Chucky. This is technically the seventh film in the seemingly never-ending Child's Play series, after Bride of Chucky, Seed of Chucky, and Curse of Chucky most recently. This one is also going straight-to-dvd and we're making an exception to post about it, just because it's another Chucky movie so why not. The story follows Fiona Dourif as Nina, who is in an insane asylum where she has been convinced she murdered her entire family, not Chucky. Things are getting better until the doctor brings another "Good Guys" doll in as a therapeutic tool. Also starring Jennifer Tilly, Alex Vincent, Michael Therriault, and Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky. This looks like more of the same from the others, but what do I know. Here's the first »

Cult Of Chucky to open Frightfest by Jennie Kermode - 2017-06-30 14:35:17

It's playtime again in Cult Of Chucky

The full line-up for this year's Horror Channel Frightfest was announced today, with Child's Play sequel Cult Of Chucky set to headline. The return of the doll possessed by a serial killer sees the franchise swerve away from comedy to focus more on fear in a move that already has fans excited, but it's just one taste of what the festival has in store.

Among the other films attracting attention is Adam Wingard's adaptation of the manga Death Note, in which a teenager who uses a supernatural notebook to turn vigilante finds himself getting in too deep. Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel Leatherface brings more sinister chills, and a young man determined to lose his virginity gets in too deep when he and his friend meet two uncannily beautiful women in Double Date. There's also vampire comedy in Fanged Up, an alien invasion in Canaries, »

Cult of Chucky Trailer Has Chucky on a Blood-Soaked Killing Spree

29 June 2017 9:05 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

He's back! After four years away, horror lovers' favorite murderous doll is back in action and, not that this isn't always the case, but Chucky is really out for blood this time around. The trailer for Cult of Chucky is here and this looks like it is going to be a straight-up quirky slasher movie, as opposed to some of the more schlocky entries in the franchise like Seed of Chucky. Can he somehow make it fresh for a seventh installment? If not fresh, this at least looks fun.

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Cult of Chucky today, giving us our first look at the horror icon doing what he does best; killing people even though somebody tried to warn them this would happen. There was an announcement trailer released previously, but it didn't contain any actual new footage. Brad Dourif once again returns to voice the doll. »

Cult Of Chucky: Are You a Member? Watch First Trailer

29 June 2017 8:00 AM, PDT | Screen Anarchy | See recent Screen Anarchy news »

Right up front, I'll admit that I'm not a fervant fan of Chucky, the bloodthirsty doll that spawned a horror franchise. His original appearance in Child's Play was very startling, though, and it's hard not to admire the devotion that the iconic figure has attracted over the years. Now the seventh installment is getting ready to be unleashed upon the world and the first trailer has been released. Cult of Chucky is the title, and though it's going straight to home video on October 3, it certainly looks to be worthy of consideration by horror fans and possibly those of us who enjoy bloody thrillers. Original creator Don Mancini wrote and directed. Brad Dourif returns to voice Chucky, and the fully human cast includes Jennifer...

Chucky Gives Child's Play 7 Script a One Finger Review

6 June 2017 3:50 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

The Cult of Chucky movie will be out this October, and Universal has shared a short clip of Chucky learning is lines. The movie was shot from January 2017 through February in Canada with original director Don Mancini. After the release of Curse of Chucky in 2013, Mancini confirmed that there would be a 7th movie and that he was in the early planning stages. In 2015 it was revealed that Mancini had written a script and the movie would be shot soon thereafter.

The new teaser clip comes courtesy of The official Chucky Facebook page and it's a mere 8 seconds long. In the short clip with creepy sound design underneath, you can clearly see Chucky's left hand resting on a script. Chucky's hand then delivers a famous one-finger salute to the camera when the title Cult of Chucky pops up on the screen. The video is very short, but effective and so very Chucky. »

Is Chucky Getting His Own Child's Play Video Game?

17 May 2017 4:31 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Have you ever thought about playing as the murder-happy doll Chucky in a video game? If so, that could very well be in your future. Even if you haven't thought about that prospect previously, and we're guessing you probably haven't, this is still something that could be happening. Reading into some recent social media activity a bit, it looks like Universal is planning a Child's Play video game.

Universal is currently working on a new Chucky movie, Cult of Chucky, which is slated for release on October 20, 2017. The official Child's Play Twitter account has been a bit more actively lately, since a movie is currently in production, and in a sort of under-the-radar manner, they may have hinted heavily at the arrival of a video game taking place in the world of the long-standing horror franchise. Back in April, the account ran a Twitter poll, asking if fans would be »

Mark Harrison May 18, 2017

For a family-friendly film, Toy Story 3 is steeped in horror. With spoilers, we take a look...

This article contains spoilers for Toy Story 3.

In August 2010, a couple of months after Toy Story 3 was released in Us cinemas, the chair of the MPAA Classification and Ratings Administration admitted that they might have made a mistake in giving the film a G rating.

Speaking on industry podcast The Business, Joan Graves said that based on feedback they had received from parents since the film's release, Toy Story 3 should have been given a PG rating “at least”, because of a climactic scene in which Woody, Buzz and friends find themselves sinking into an incinerator like rubbish. Graves went on to say that the film changed their approach to animated family films, and that they would no longer give these movies “the benefit of the doubt” in »

Back in January, Cult of Chucky, Universal 1440's highly-anticipated horror sequel, started production, with director Don Mancini and star Jennifer Tilly sharing the first set photos. Now that the film is in post-production, the wait for the first trailer begins. But before the first footage drops, writer-director Don Mancini descended upon the Monsterpalooza convention in Pasadena, California this weekend, where he shed some new light on this sequel. During his convention appearance, the director made quite the bold statement, revealing that this will be the goriest Chucky movie ever.

"The gore effects in this movie, this is definitly the goriest of all of the movies. [This] wasn't something [we] set out to do, it just sort of turned out that way."

Don Mancini was joined by Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif and animatronic effects supervisor Tony Gardner at the convention, with the director revealing that the story picks up directly after 2013's Curse of Chucky. »

Rock Paper Dead Frees a Serial Killer in this Official Trailer (Bad Move!)

3 March 2017 2:21 PM, PST | 28 Days Later Analysis | See recent 28 Days Later Analysis news »

Tom Holland (Child's Play, Thinner) returns to horror with the indie feature Rock Paper Dead. Developed by writers Kerry Fleming and Victor Miller, the film involves a "cured...serial killer." Peter returns to his ancestral home to, unsurprisingly, kill again! The film stars: Michael Madsen, Tatum O'Neal, Najarra Townsend and Gabrielle Stone. What is surprising - there are two sequels already in the works, for this series. Rock Paper Dead 2 and 3 will release in 2018 and 2020, respectively. For now, a trailer for the first title is hosted here. The synopsis expands on the film's story slightly. Peter (Luke Macfarlane) has been released from a state hospital, for the criminally insane. Childhood memories, triggered by a visit to his hometown, compel Peter to kill again. A visit from Ashley (Jennifer Titus) might quell his rage, if he can just resolve his past. Rock Paper Dead will release in 2017. Before the film's launch, »

Child's Play and Fright Night (1985) director Tom Holland steps back behind the camera for the new horror film Rock Paper Dead, and you can get a tease of what to expect in the film's first trailer.

"Rock Paper Dead is the story of serial killer Peter “The Doll Maker” Harris, who returns to his ancestral family estate after being released from the state’s hospital for the criminally insane after twenty years – a “cured” man. Once inside the old house, anguished memories from a tortured childhood and visitations from past victims shake Peter’s resolve, but it isn’t until the lovely young Ashley enters his life that Peter makes a fateful decision. One that rekindles old desires that have always ended in murder."

First Trailer for Horror 'Rock Paper Dead' from Director Tom Holland

2 March 2017 6:43 PM, PST | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"Welcome back, Peter..." This is the first horror film from director Tom Holland since Thinner in 1996. Rock Paper Dead is the new horror film made by Tom Holland, director of the original Fright Night, Child's Play and Thinner. The film is about a serial killer named Peter "the Doll Maker" Harris, played by Luke Macfarlane, who returns to his hometown after being "cured" in a mental hospital only to relapse into his spooky, doll-maker, serial killer ways. The full cast includes Michael Madsen, Tatum O'Neal, Maureen McCormick, and Jennifer Titus. With so much innovative and unique horror being made, by comparison this looks rather lackluster. Even the lead actor seems miscast, the whole film just seems weird. Here's the first teaser trailer for Tom Holland's Rock Paper Dead, direct from YouTube (via Deadline): From the creators of Friday the 13th and Child's Play!, Rock Paper Dead is the story of serial killer, »
