Parents Guide for
Big (1988) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.
Visit our Parents Guide Help to learn more

Sex & Nudity

Suggested MPAA rating: PG-13 for brief stong language and a scene of sensuality.

In one scene, a man and woman passionately kiss. Then, she removes her shirt and the man reaches out to touch her breasts curiously. Brief sensual scene.

Some sexual references.

Violence & Gore

In a short, comical scene, two men get in an argument leading into a punch taken by one of the men. However, the punch is off screen. Bloody nose results are shown.

Two characters argue offscreen and a gunshot is heard.

Profanity

One use of the f-word and other minor swearing. (s-word & a-word).

At one point, Billy (kid) is really upset with Josh (Tom Hanks) and says, "Who the F**K do you think you are?!" and then before storming out of Josh's office, he very angrily calls him, "A**HOLE!!" Other than that scene, I agree the swearing was pretty minor. Also there are some uses of the b-word.

Social drinking - adults drinking a glass of wine. Some cigarette smoking (by adults).

None to speak of, some may find the fortune machine strange or disconcerting.
