Great show! Could have used a few changes, but great!
3 March 2001 | by (Mexico, Maine) – See all my reviews

I loved all of Beverly Cleary's books, especially the "Ramona" books, so I was sooooo excited when this show came out! There were some inconsistencies. For example, on the show, Ramona's mother was always referred to as "Dory," a shortening of "Dorothy," but in the book, she was never called "Dory." Also, in the books, Ramona's mother had short hair, but on the show, she had really long hair. However, this show was still great, and the characters seemed to be modernized a bit in terms of appearance. Barry Flatman is perfect as Bob Quimby! It would be interesting to see Ramona's days in high school and beyond! Ramona, we all love you and will never forget you!
