Parents Guide for
September (1987) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

There is a rather precarious situation involving a woman a man and another woman. They never come out and say it, but it is strongly suggested that the man is having an affair with the other woman. Quite a few conversations about sex, but none of them are really graphic. It is also suggested that a woman sleeps naked though never directly shown.

Violence & Gore

Nothing beyond a few marital squables.

Profanity

There is a scene that involves 4 uses of the s-word and 5 uses of the f-word. This is the only scene in which strong language is used.

A character halfway through the movie develops a serious drinking problem and is shown directly and harshly.

Not extremely intense, but the climax includes Mia Farrow's character crying and saying that her mother was really the one to shoot her ex, but she was blamed for it so her mother could get away with it
