When the cops were shooting at RoboCop. Lt. Edgecock tells the cops to "Fall In". But, this does not match his mouth, as if he was really saying "Fall Back".

Character error

When murdered cop Frank Frederickson's nameplate is removed from his locker in one of the opening scenes, it's spelled FREDERICKSON. However, when Robocop is scrolling through the computer looking at Boddickers rap sheet later and it scrolls past Frederickson's murder, his name is spelled very differently.

When Robocop goes to Murphy's old house on Primrose Lane, he enters to see a monitor with a video of a real estate agent sale pitching the house. As he leaves, he becomes frustrated and comes to the monitor again and punches it in, destroying it. This is clearly vandalism, an illegal act, and since one of Robocop's prime directives is 'Uphold The Law', it is likely that his program would have prevented him from doing this.

When Murphy is being taken from the helicopter to the emergency room, it is dark outside, but when he dies, as the scene fades out we hear, "Okay - call it. What's the time?....6:15". So, at 6:15 p.m. for it to be dark outside at Detroit's latitude, it would be winter, and the weather would be much colder out, none of which is evident throughout the rest of the movie, even taking into consideration Morton's ninety days to go to prototype.

Factual errors

In the POV scenes when Robocop is being assembled, when the female engineer says "Bring in the LED, lock it down", the tech uses a drill with a drilling bit as opposed to a screw or bolt driving bit. This obviously would not work as the tech would be drilling holes in Robo's head instead of securing on LED.

When Robocop is in his first patrol at the convenience store, he prevents the robber's shooting by bending the barrel of the gun. In reality, this would have been impossible because the robber was still holding the gun - to create that amount of stress to make the barrel bend like that, the robber would have needed to be as strong as Robocop. Otherwise, the gun would sooner flip out of the robber's arms rather than bend.

When Robocop is first on patrol and he responds to the convenience store robbery, the angle of impact with the suspect is inconsistent with the laws of physics. The suspect, after spending his rounds of ammunition, attempts to run past Murphy's left side, to which Murphy reacts by spinning around and clotheslining the suspect from the front, which would instantly send him to the ground. Yet, in the next shot, the suspect flies face first into the beer cooler several feet away. In order for this to have occurred, Murphy would have had to spin around and strike the suspect from behind, not from front.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

When Robocop is told to record for the first time and then play it back, we see several seconds of playback from before he was initially told to record. Many video cameras nowadays have a feature known as pre-record. When you press record on the camera it will automatically have kept the last 5 to 7 seconds of video it has seen. That way those spontaneous shots aren't missed. Being Robocop was created in the future, pre-record would definitely be included in his abilities.
