Sarah Lawrence Student Says Catfish’s Nev Schulman Punched Her ‘Repeatedly’ in the Head in 2006

10 September 2014 8:50 AM, PDT | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

In his new book, In Real Life: Love, Lies & Identity in the Digital Age, Nev Schulman — the boyish host of the MTV show Catfish — writes about the time he was “tossed out” of Sarah Lawrence College for punching a girl in the face. In the passage, Schulman explains away his behavior by saying he “hadn’t been aware of” the fact that the person he punched was a woman, because she was “short, stocky, crew-cut-styled.” So it struck many former students at Sarah Lawrence as hypocritical when Schulman tweeted a selfie from an elevator on Monday night, condemning former Ravens running back Ray Rice for domestic abuse against his wife, with the message “Real men show strength through patience and honor. This elevator is abuse free.”The anecdote Schulman shares in the book is also strange, not just because of the casual tone in which it’s written, but »

President Obama -- Ray Rice Is Not a 'Real Man'

9 September 2014 8:15 AM, PDT | TMZ | See recent TMZ news »

Real men don't hit women ... so says President Barack Obama -- who issued a scathing statement against domestic abuse in the wake of the Ray Rice elevator video posted on TMZ Sports. Moments after Rice was cut from the Baltimore Ravens Monday, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest issued a statement saying, "The President is the father of two daughters. And like any American, he believes that domestic violence is contemptible and unacceptable in a civilized society. »

6 reasons we can't wait for Batista to come back to the WWE

1 August 2014 6:51 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

Dave Bautista is whipping up a storm in Hollywood.

The wrestler has impressed fans and critics alike with his devastatingly dry take on Drax the Destroyer in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and a sequel has already been confirmed

But while we never thought we'd say this when the boos rang out during the Royal Rumble, we're already missing Batista from the WWE.

Stephanie McMahon and Paul Heyman are pulling out all the stops, but when it comes to in-ring bad guys, Batista may not be the heel the WWE Universe deserves, but he's the one it needs right now.

Below, Digital Spy rounds up the reasons why Batista's most-recent WWE run shows that he has plenty more to offer when he makes his inevitable return.

1. He can incite a proper slap from Stephanie McMahon, and take it as well

"Lean in a little closer, just drool all over her a little more. »

A Badass Frisbee Golfer’s Epic Life is Told in This One-Minute Short Film

28 April 2014 12:52 PM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

Why Watch? Fletch Ferguson is an awesome Frisbee golfer who achieved everything he set out to achieve at an absurdly young age. So what’s his next step? A career shift that will change his entire epic life. This short film from Zen Freese is a bombastic celebration of a huge personality condensed to an appropriately-long time: a single minute. As you can guess, it’s built with quick-cut editing that channels Edgar Wright’s visual style (complete with Pilgrim-esque animation), but the overall feel is a sprinting version of the “Real Men of Genius” beer ads. Everything is larger than life, except the subject. Fletch wins by sheer hyperbole. The music is delightfully upbeat, creating a constant (and repeating) thrumming that the visuals keep time to. However, the cherry on top is the radio-ready voice over narration that delivers achievements both unimpressive and mediocre as dry as you like. What »

Cuban Fury review: so he thinks he can dance

13 February 2014 7:53 AM, PST | www.flickfilosopher.com | See recent FlickFilosopher news »

The cast is game, and hit the right notes balancing cartoonishness and charm. As sitcom rom-coms go, it’s far from the worst one ever offered to us. I’m “biast” (pro): I am amused by Nick Frost

I’m “biast” (con): the premise didn’t thrill me

(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)

The best thing about the halfhearted, old-hat Cuban Fury is its tagline: “Real men dance.” Of course they do, and I like the implication that we’re going to see some tired stereotypes get smacked. And we get a bit of that, for the second best thing in Cuban Fury is the dance fight between Nick Frost’s schlubby engineer and his appalling jerk of a coworker, played by Chris O’Dowd — it’s funny not for any suggestion that they, as men, shouldn’t be dancing, but because each character »

Thn At Grudge Match Press Conference With Sylvester Stallone And Robert De Niro

11 January 2014 2:24 AM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Just gotta say, The Dorchester Hotel in Mayfair is as swanky as all balls. It was within these opulent surroundings that Sky Sports and Warner Bros presented the press conference for Grudge Match (read our review here) starring Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone. It’s essentially the Rocky vs Raging Bull crossover that boxing/film fans have long since discussed and we lucky few were treated to an audience with Bobby, Sly and director Peter Segal (The Naked Gun 33 1/3, plus three Adam Sandler movies).

What drew you to this film?

Segal: Well I grew up in the era of great heavyweights and two of my favourite films were Raging Bull and Rocky. So when this script came along, it initially required just two elderly actors, and the more we worked on it the more we realise we could only make it with these two gentleman.
