Prick Up Your Ears (1987) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

There are several descriptions of sexual incidents, but these are not detailed.

There are four instances of male nudity, but they are "discreet." Two are from the rear, and one is from the side. When one of the men is shown nude from the front, his naughty bits are hidden by his hand.

There are several scenes of sex in public places, but these are either in dark settings or filmed from the waist up.

Violence & Gore

A man is bludgeoned to death with a hammer. Blood splatters with each strike. A man commits suicide by overdosing on pills. The corpses are shown from above; the scene is pretty much drenched in blood.

There are several fights between men, but no damage is done.

Profanity

The F-word is used nine times. The S-word is used eight times. Frequently, vulgar expressions are used for sexual acts and parts. There are occasional religious profanities.

Several characters are smokers. Social drinking is shown is a few scenes.

The discovery of the corpses as well as the murder scene are quite intense, and might even make some audience members jump.
