Happy Birthday Bette Midler! What’s Her Greatest Musical Moment?

29 November 2013 6:23 AM, PST | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

Bette Midler turns 68 on Sunday, and like Tina Turner a few days ago, it’s hard to remember a time when she wasn’t part of our lives, either on the radio or on the big screen. Last year Louis asked for The Greatest Bette Moment, with an emphasis on her film career (and I have to agree with the worship of Big Business, although Outrageous Fortune comes very close “Does the phrase needledick, the bugf*cker mean anything to you?”), but this year let’s focus on her music.

Bette has had a wildly varied musical career, from stage rock to big band to pure pop to standards, and much more. But if you had to pick a favorite from her vast songbook, what would it be? Her first top ten hit “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy?” Her biggest hits “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “From A Distance?” The classic “The Rose? »

Alex Rodriguez Denies Tell-All Book's Claim of Weekly Threesomes With Hookers: "Comical," Says Baseball Star's Rep

17 October 2013 7:37 PM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Alex Rodriguez is an all-star when it comes to the triple play, according to an upcoming tell-all. But the scandal-tarnished athlete's camp has grand-slammed the allegations in House of Outrageous Fortune: Fifteen Central Park West, The World's Most Powerful Address that A-Rod had numerous sexual encounters involving two prostitutes at a time. "The allegations concerning prostitutes are 100 percent false, and therefore the the author of the book cannot possibly have a single shred of evidence to back them up," A-Rod's spokesperson Ron Berkowitz said in a statement to E! News. "Furthermore, they are defamatory—even of a public figure, as they include untrue allegations of »

Alex Rodriguez Allegedly ‘Got Hookers All The Time,’ New Book States

17 October 2013 8:47 AM, PDT | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

In a new book, written by Michael Gross, Mlb player Alex Rodriguez is accused of bringing multiple hookers up to his room at his New York apartment. ’House of Outrageous Fortune: Fifteen Central Park West, The World’s Most Powerful Address’ will hit the shelves in March 2014 — just in time for Spring training.

It’s not a good year for Alex Rodriguez. While he’s fighting for his Mlb career to stay afloat, a new book is being written about his alleged past with prostitutes!

A-Rod Reportedly ‘Got Hookers All The Time’

Michael Gross‘ House of Outrageous Fortune: Fifteen Central Park West, The World’s Most Powerful Address, outlines the alleged behind-the-scenes life of the famed Yankee.

In 2010, A-Rod moved into a $30,000-a-month apartment on Central Park West — the same building that houses Sting, Bob Costas and Denzel Washington. However, while the price may be high, the employees aren’t very loyal, »

Alex Rodriguez Had Three-Ways With Prostitutes, New Book Claims: Report

16 October 2013 2:26 PM, PDT | Us Weekly | See recent Us Weekly news »

Alex Rodriguez's reputation has taken quite a beating this year -- and it looks like things are about to get even worse for the athlete. According to a new report by Richard Johnson of the New York Post's Page Six, the Yankee slugger is the subject of some nasty allegations in Michael Gross' upcoming book House of Outrageous Fortune: Fifteen Central Park West, The World's Most Powerful Address.  Among the stories in the tome, due in March 2014, is a claim that Rodriguez, 38, enjoyed the company [...] »

The Heat

28 June 2013 9:52 AM, PDT | Pastemagazine.com | See recent PasteMagazine news »

Any discussion of The Heat will likely draw comparison to director Paul Feig’s previous film, Bridesmaids—a watershed moment for contemporary Hollywood. It was the first comedy with an all-female lead cast to become a crossover demographic success since perhaps Nine to Five, which came out more than thirty years ago. This is maybe less surprising when you realize that, for whatever reason, there aren’t that many made in the first place. You have to truly plumb the depths of IMDb to find the likes of Outrageous Fortune, The First Wives Club and Baby Mama, and let’s not kid ourselves into »

Contest: "The Heat" Prize Pack

27 June 2013 9:13 AM, PDT | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

The Heat opens in theaters everywhere on June 28th and 20th Century Fox is gifting 5 lucky Tfe readers The Heat Prize Packs (Us residents only this time. sorry) which include, a fan, a t-shirt, and a movie poster.

Various version of this poster have already stirred up some controversy for the weird slimming of Melissa McCarthy (um, people know what she looks like... and they like her like that!) so consider it a hot button keepsake. I'm seeing this Tuesday and excited because it seems like ideal counterprogramming in our global all boy all superhero summer crisis each year. Is it too much to hope for that it's as funny as Outrageous Fortune (1986) the female odd couple comedy that keeps coming to mind for me when I think of this one? (Though perhaps Miss Congeniality 2 is a better comparison)

All3Media Launches Scripted Division Run By Eric Lehrman, Inks Deal With Reality Producer Omid Kahangi

15 May 2013 11:33 AM, PDT | Deadline TV | See recent Deadline TV news »

Exclusive: All3Media America, the recently launched U.S. branch of the UK’s All3Media, is formally starting a scripted division. It will be run by former Bad Robot executive Eric Lehrman, named VP Scripted Television. The move reflects the company’s desire to enter the U.S. scripted business and build on All3Media’s slate of international scripted formats, including shows from Company Pictures (Shameless, Skins, The Village, Secret State), Lime Pictures (Hollyoaks), Objective Productions (Peep Show, Fresh Meat), South Pacific (Outrageous Fortune, The Almighty Johnsons), and Bentley (Midsomer Murders). All3Media America principals Eli Holzman and Stephen Lambert said that getting into scripted is something they had been looking to do since the two launched Studio Lambert USA in 2008. All3Media was an investor in StudioLambert USA and late last year triggered an option to buy the company, which became the core of All3Media USA. »
