This 1996 film has seldom been seen outside of Korea, despite being made by master stylist Lee Myung-se, whose seminal 1999 work Nowhere to Hide is also screening at the festival. Featuring a magnetic turn by the late Kang Soo-yeon and a primal one from Kim Kap-soo, currently on screens in the smash hit K-drama Queen of...

Danish IDFA winner Phie Ambo (“Family”) will be attending Amsterdam’s major doc showcase for the 8th time with “Fire, Water, Earth, Air,” bowing at the Forum Pitch alongside 20 other projects. Ahead of their industry pitch Nov. 13, Ambo and her producer Rikke Tambo Andersen of Copenhagen-based Tambo Film, have just secured two co-producers: Mantaray Film Sweden’s Stina Gardell and leading Faroese producer Jon Hammer of Kyk.
Securing Swedish and Faroese partners was paramount for the making of Ambo’s first creative documentary conceived as a fully-fledged collaboration with filmmaking teams in Sweden, the Faroe Islands and Norway, on top of the helmer’s own Danish crew.

Fox released the first trailer for Season 2 of Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear’s “9-1-1” during the Television Critics Association press tour Thursday, giving us our first look at Hewitt in character as Maddie, our new leading lady after Connie Britton’s exit in the Season 1 finale.
The 1-minute, 55-second clip shows Hewitt fall right into place with our returning leads, Peter Krause, Angela Bassett and Oliver Stark, who are all back to handling other people’s problems while ignoring their own in the show’s second season. And this time things seem even more overwhelmingly over-the-top than they were when Abby (Britton) was around.
People are crying, roads are cracking down the middle, and smash cuts preview 9-1-1 calls you couldn’t have imagined in your wildest nightmares.
