I saw this short film a few years ago and it always stayed with me. It was a look into the way that Aboriginal girls interacted with white men both past and present. Three young women are cruising through Kings Cross to pick up a drunk white man that they call 'Captains.' As one of the girl's explained, 'it's what her mother used to call them. The film cuts between the girls taking advantage of their Captain with journal extracts from settlers and sailors. A look at white Australia's relationship with Aboriginal people and how we perceive them and they perceive us. An interesting film for sure.
