Sex & Nudity

9/10

We see a statue of a man and a woman having sex, the woman's breasts, vagina, and the man's penis is shown on the statue.

There are about 3 sex scenes.

After intercourse, a woman's buttocks and a man's pubic region are seen (no genitals)

In order to bring back a man to his full body, a woman seduces men and brings them into the attic where the zombie would eat the ones she seduces (see blood and gore).

All the men have their pants around their ankles and they wear skimpy underwear outlining their penises. Sexual references

One of the movie's themes is sexual pleasure.

Violence & Gore

10/10

Hellraiser is a VERY violent and graphic film. Almost every violent scene is accompanied with substantial amount of blood and gore.

A man is shown being impaled by chains. Not much graphic, but very disturbing and frightening.

A man is hung from chains with blood running down his face.

A man slices his hand on a loose nail. Graphic.

There is a graphic "rebirth" scene, which shows a man being reconstructed.

A man appears with no skin.

A man is killed by having his head and jaw smashed in with a hammer. Brutal and graphic

A man inserts his hand into people and sucks out their blood.

A skinned corpse is shown.

A man is sliced on his face by a knife.

A woman is stabbed in the stomach with a knife. Graphic.

A man is very graphically impaled by chain hooks and then pulled apart by them. Probably the goriest part of the movie.

Profanity

8/10

There are a few heavy bits of profanity. F words, S words, "bastard", "damn", "hell".

3/10

Adults drink and smoke casually in this movie.

10/10

The four cenobites are very horrific and graphic looking, including one with no skin on and no eyes, one that is fat and has no mouth or eyes (sunglasses cover this), one whose neck is open and we see the inside of it many times, and the lead cenobite has nails all over his head and speaks in a very disturbing, creepy voice

There are many intense scenes of violence within Hellraiser, which are very disturbing to watch.

Subject matter is very dark and has adult themes such as S&M. Bloody, gory mess throughout.

This movie should be rated X as the later sequels.

A horrifying looking creature chases a girl through the thin hallway and almost get to her. This scene is very scary.
