Grizzly II: The Concert (1983) Poster

Trivia

Filmed in 1983 but never officially released. Filmed mostly in Budapest, Hungary, the Hungarian government seized most of the production's equipment for non-payment of bills. Post-production was never completed. Cannon Films bought the film in 1987 and planned to complete post-production and release the film. But the company began having financial troubles in 1988 and the film was forgotten. The existence of this film was questioned until a workprint surfaced on the internet in 2007.
The concert scenes were filmed after a performance by Nazareth. The crowd was unaware that the following act was not a real band and were being recorded for a film. It was the largest gathering in Hungary since the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.

Nick Maley created an animatronic bear for the film but was not able to get it to work properly. A new bear created with special effects was going to be added to the film but post-production was never completed. In the leaked workprint, the animatronic bear appears only briefly in the final scenes. Earlier scenes in which the bear was featured are replaced with a blank screen.
