Born in London, Joely Richardson, 50, is the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave and Tony Richardson. On television, she has played Lady Chatterley and starred in the long-running series Nip/Tuck; her films include Drowning By Numbers, 101 Dalmations, The Patriot and, most recently, Maggie. She is divorced and has a daughter.

Films Boutique Picks Up Peter Greenaway’s ‘Eisenstein in Guanajuato’ (Exclusive)

London – Films Boutique has acquired world sales rights to Peter Greenaway’s “Eisenstein in Guanajuato,” which will have its world premiere in competition at the Berlin Film Festival.

Pic charts the sensual awakening in Mexico of Soviet director Sergei Eisenstein, who is best known for “Battleship Potemkin.” It stars Finnish actor Elmer Back as Eisenstein and Mexican actor Luis Alberti (“La Jaula de Oro”) as his Mexican guide Palomino Canedo.

Film is set in 1931, when Eisenstein is at the height of his artistic powers, but has been rejected by Hollywood, and is under increasing pressure to return to the Soviet Union. He travels to Guanajuato in Mexico to shoot a new film, where — chaperoned by Canedo — he falls under Mexico’s spell and finds inspiration.
