10 Teen Movies you can’t buy on DVD

I’m a huge fan of 80’s teen movies and teen movies in general – yes I may not be the target demographic, but there’s something about the genre I love, and always will love. The advent of DVD means that there’s an abundance of teen movies now available to own, including some that should probably have never seen the light of day. But despite that, there’s still some teen movies that haven’t made the transition to the shiny disc format. So here’s a rundown of my Ten Teen Movies that haven’t made it to DVD – in fact I think some of these never even made it to retail VHS!!

The road to adulthood for the child star is frequently a rocky one. For Corey Haim, who has died at the age of 38, it proved, in the end, too much to negotiate. Haim's guileless, fun-loving, all-American brand of youth and confidence won him many admirers. But it was a difficult schtick to carry into adulthood.

Born in Toronto in 1971, Haim enrolled in acting lessons to help cure his shyness. He proved a natural, with a great fresh grin and an easy way with a one-liner, which won him a small role, aged 12, on TV show The Edison Twins.

His debut feature film was Firstborn, an early vehicle for then-couple Robert Downey Jr and Sarah Jessica Parker.

The news that actor Corey Haim, 38, was found dead on Wednesday morning (March 10) of an apparent drug overdose has left the late Hollywood icon's family, friends and fans in mourning. Although Haim's career had been relatively quiet in recent years, the actor was a steady presence on the big screen throughout the 1980s, starring alongside talents such as Kiefer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen and longtime friend and collaborator Corey Feldman.

In memory of the late actor, MTV News has compiled a timeline of Corey Haim's career in Hollywood from his first roles in "Firstborn" and "Silver Bullet" to his final years as a reality television star alongside Feldman.
