Plot:

Felix never has any luck with relationships. To prove things he announces his engagement to model Donna, whom he only knows of a picture. After a relationship with Esther strands, he meets the mother of Donna by coincidence.

a nice little comedy about love relations

Dutch comedies never really grabbed my attention, because most these movies always had a little story, a lot of sex (nudity) and too much slapstick. But this movie is actually funny and is more than the average dutch comedy. This story is about a young student who is still a virgin and tries to get a girlfriend. He is a bit nerdy and has his flaws, but also is very charming! The main problem (gimmick of the movie)is that he falls in love with every girl he sees and fancies. For example, he falls in love with a model displayed on a poster,without ever meeting her! This model he calls Donna (the title of the movie)! He imagines even being engaged to her. Then he meets his neighbor Esther (played by Simone Walraven,quite the looker) and immediately he is in love with her. So he tries to win her heart! The story shows how it is to be in love and what love can do to a person! Also it gives insight about the positive and negative matters in love relations, which makes the story recognizable for the mature audience. The plot has some flaws and leaves you in the dark about certain plot elements. But can be forgiven because the main character,Felix(Rene van 't Hof)does a good job of carrying the movie! He really is charming!!!! Nice little comedy!
