Here Are 2014′s Top 14 Dance Videos According To DanceOn Network

16 December 2014 12:33 PM, PST | Tubefilter.com | See recent Tubefilter News news »

It’s the season where everyone starts compiling “best of the year” lists, so DanceOn decided to join the crowd. The dance-themed multi-channel network best known for its Dance Showdown series has compiled a list of the top 14 dance videos from 2014. The videos encompass sweet moves from professionally-trained dancers and amateurs alike. Taylor Swift earned a spot at #10 on the top dance videos list for her “Shake It Off” routine, and a little boy named Charlie placed #12 by easily giving Patrick Swayze a run for his money. Ellen DeGeneres (who just launched her own video hub this year) recreated in her usual farcical style Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda,” earning the comedienne a #2 spot on the list. However, Sia beat out all other dance videos for “Chandelier,” which was actually performed by 11-year-old dancer Maddie Ziegler. Here’s the complete list of DanceOn’s top 14 dance videos from 2014: 14. Major Lazer »

"As You Wisssssssh" - Missi's Favorites

Favorite Movie

-by Missi Pyle

I have seen The Princess Bride about 200 times. I remember I saw it in the theater as a Double Feature with my friend Christy Brown in the 8th grade. It was playing with Dirty Dancing randomly. And when both movies were over. My friend Christy was totally floored by Dirty Dancing and I thought she was an idiot. I was like - wait the Princess Bride is the Best Movie ever Made. And she was like - no- Dirty Dancing.

The friendship didn't last.

But I just kept watching that movie over and over. I think it's where I developed most of my sense of humor. I have gotten to meet several people from that movie: Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, Wallace Shawn. I never know what to say. I just can't even handle it.

I know its a lot of people's favorite movie. I don't care. »

“I Won’t Grow Up”: On ‘Peter Pan Live’ And the Value of Possessive Nostalgia

5 December 2014 9:00 AM, PST | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

As a young child, I loved a strange range of movies, from Pretty Woman to Dirty Dancing, Fern Gully to The Little Mermaid, The Thornbirds to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. My wide, mixed up taste was bred from relatively lax familial observations of my watching habits (most of my consumption happened in front of our living room television, a room placed squarely in the middle of our long house, with occasional trips to the single screen theater in our small Vermont town, so I wasn’t really hiding anything). My parents didn’t seem to care too much about what I watched – although I do have a strong memory of going to see Summer of Sam with my parents as a teen, which included my aghast mother asking me at least ten times if I wanted to leave – and I didn’t really abuse the freedom. I just liked things. It »

Butter on the Latch | Review

14 November 2014 6:30 AM, PST | SmellsLikeScreenSpirit | See recent SmellsLikeScreenSpirit news »

Eventually perfected in Thou Wast Mild and Lovely, Butter on the Latch features sublimely impressionistic lensing (courtesy of cinematographer Ashley Connor) that creates a fantastical mise-en-scène in which nightmares and libidinous desires coexist. Basically, Butter on the Latch is kind of a modern hipster version of Dirty Dancing on a micro-budget -- and with very little dancing -- shot as a verbosely impressionistic fantasy tale. Butter on the Latch is a film that luxuriates itself in the sublime lyricism of primal rhythms and gypsy folklore; abiding by a unerringly hypnotic pulse, the psychological framework of Butter on the Latch skillfully relegates the viewer into a near hallucinatory trance, reflecting the woozy, sleepless unease of the two protagonists. »

Look Back at Ryan Gosling's Heartthrob Evolution

11 November 2014 4:38 AM, PST | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

With Ryan Gosling's 34th birthday on Nov. 12, we're looking back on his time in the Hollywood spotlight. He's been winning hearts and weakening knees for two decades, charming fans on screen and off with his witty one-liners and swoon-worthy smirk. Back in the early '90s, he captured the crowd's attention at a talent show before bringing his smooth moves to The Mickey Mouse Club. From there, Ryan became a teen heartthrob, a romantic leading man, and a fan favorite so lovable that people actually petitioned for him to be People's 2011 Sexiest Man Alive. Most recently, Ryan became a dad. Actually, let's rephrase that - Ryan is officially a hot dad. In honor of his approaching birthday, go all the way back to Ryan's adorable days on the Disney channel to see his heartthrob evolution from adorable crooner to Hollywood's hottest Dilf. Donald Sutherland Reflects on Long Run of Success, Looks to ‘Snowy’ Future

5 November 2014 10:00 AM, PST | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

In a career that spans six decades, Donald Sutherland has traversed all mediums and genres, thanks to talent, preparation and, by his own admission, sheer luck.

He discovered the extent of his latest professional good fortune about three years ago in, of all places, a doctor’s office.

“I was at my dermatologist, and she asked me what I was doing next,” Sutherland recalls. “I told her I was about to do something called ‘The Hunger Games.’ She gasped and started calling everyone into the room, and they all came running. That was my first inkling it might be something big,” says the actor, who wasn’t familiar with Suzanne Collins’ popular sci-fi trilogy when he first read the script.

Thanks to his steely turn as President Snow, the 79-year-old actor has attracted a new generation of fans. He’ll reprise his role as Katniss Everdeen’s nemesis in the series’ third film, »

Tommy Lee Jones Said Really Mean Things To Jim Carrey During Batman Forever

29 October 2014 8:02 AM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Sometimes a movie duo works fabulously together onscreen, but the two utterly loathe each other offscreen. Rumor has it this was the case for Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart on Sabrina, Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey on Dirty Dancing, and even Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling on The Notebook. Well, add Batman Forever's dastardly duo of Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey to this list. It turns out Jones loathed Carrey, and had no trouble letting it be known. While promoting his upcoming Dumb and Dumber To, Jim Carrey appeared on Howard Stern's show for a lengthy interview. About 55 minutes in, talk turns to Carrey's time playing the Riddler in Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever, in which Tommy Lee Jones co-starred as Two-Face. Well, it turns out Jones was less than thrilled to be sharing scenes with the comedian, and wasn't shy about letting Carrey know. According to Carrey, »

We have a lot of feelings about cake. But this sums it up in two GIFs:

We love all kinds of cake — wedding cake, graduation cake, whatever occasion at the office warrants a cake in the break room — but the best kind of cake is birthday cake. Your birthday cake. Which 1-year-old Bauer was #blessed to learn early in life.

Bauer’s birthday may have been last year, but the video wasn’t uploaded until now — right in time to start the countdown to his second birthday. Because you Know Bauer is already ready for that cake.
