In the year 2017, a rich man travels to the ends of the earth to find that the perfect woman is always under his nose. When successful businessman Sam Treadwell finds that his animatronic wife, Cherry model 2000 has shorted out, he hires sexy renegade tracker E. Johnson (Melanie Griffith) to find her exact duplicate. But as their journey to replace his perfect mate leads them into the treacherous and lawless region of The Zone, Treadwell learns the hard way that the perfect woman is made not of computer chips and diodes, but of real flesh and blood. A fun movie that never takes itself too seriously
19 January 1999 | by (New Zealand) – See all my reviews

A lightweight love story underpins a fun story with a range of eccentric characters in a world that has lost it. At no point in time does the movie try to be anything other an entertaining comedy with short bursts of action, and as such, it is a success.
