According to LeVar Burton, during the first season, during the course of filming, he would spend hours seated on the bridge set, with little or no speaking. This led to some tedium, which would cause him to doze off, or completely fall asleep. However, this was barely noticeable, as his closed eyes were hidden by the VISOR prop. See more
It is claimed that Data can't use contractions (Can't, Isn't, Don't, etc) yet there are several instances throughout the series where he does. One of the first such examples is heard in Star Trek: The Next Generation: Encounter at Farpoint
, where Data uses the word "Can't" while the Enterprise is being chased by Q's "ship". See more
