I was a teenager when ABC’s The Disney Sunday Movie aired Mr. Boogedy (1986), a haunted house tale, and I had no interest in seeing it. I was beyond such childish ventures; my horror was blood and guts and sex and probably more blood. But teenaged Scott didn’t bother to think that every horror fan starts somewhere, and at every age too – and some gateway horror is geared towards nudging the kid to the edge of the pool instead of throwing him in. If you’re looking for some fun horror water wings, Mr. Boogedy will do the trick.
Originally airing on April 20th, Mr. Boogedy did well enough against CBS’ 60 Minutes and NBC’s Punky Brewster/Silver Spoons lineups to garner a sequel the following year, Bride of Boogedy. As the ‘80s progressed, The Disney Sunday Movie didn’t quite have the same cache due to the rise of VCRs and video stores. »

I mentioned a while back that Netflix was working on a series called G.L.O.W. which is based on the actual female wrestling company of the same name. You might remember the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling back in the 80s. There were a couple of times these ladies were in the mainstream. Once they appeared on Married with Children and there’s even a story around some of them trying to fool around with Donald Trump. Needless to say G.L.O.W. eventually shut its doors but was obviously enough to leave an impression of some significant creators nearly 30 years later.

Thirty years after playing Peg Bundy, Katey Sagal is not looking back fondly on “Married… With Children.” “It was a very misogynistic show… Women were completely exploited,” the atress said while promoting her new collection of essays, “Grace Notes: My Recollections,” on AOL’s Build Series. Sagal played the grumpy housewife opposite Ed O’Neill’s slovenly shoe salesman Al Bundy for all 11 seasons of Fox’ groundbreaking sitcom. If you’re flipping around the channels you won’t get the reruns on your main network channels but chances are if you come across TV Land or even Nick at Nite there’s a good chance you can catch some Married with Children. If there’s one show that I think would have zero chance at being on television today, it’s Married with Children. I saw an episode yesterday that featured Al in the office of a heavy set woman named “Ms. Blaub.” Honestly this was one of the tamer scenes on the show yet it still centered on him making fun of

Sophie Simmons, the 24-year-old daughter of Gene Simmons, called out Stacey Sagal for revealing her affair with the Kiss rocker in her new memoir. Sophie Simmons Calls Katey Sagal Sagal’s book, Grace Notes: My Recollections, details an affair the Married with Children star had with Gene over four decades ago. Katey Sagal is best-known for playing Peg Bundy on the hit '90s sitcom Married With Children (1987-97) or perhaps as Gemma Morrow on Sons of Anarchy. But her new memoir, Grace Notes, reveals the rich life beyond those iconic roles.
Sagal eschews much of the usual name-dropping and showbiz stories — though there are some fun ones: She dated Kiss' Gene Simmons, sang backup for Bette Midler and experimented with drugs with childhood pal Lorna Luft, the daughter of Judy Garland. But the book is an unusually honest and moving account of her struggles with her body image »

Meghan Markle opened up about the joy and struggles of being a biracial woman in Allure's April issue, which is dedicated to "The Beauty in Diversity." The 35-year-old Suits star, who has been dating Prince Harry since last Summer, gave an insightful interview about being mistakenly stereotyped in auditions and having her beloved freckles airbrushed out of photos. Meghan was born and raised in Los Angeles. Her mother Doria is black, a clinical therapist, and a yoga instructor who recently graduated from the University of Southern California with a masters degree in social work. Her father, Thomas, is of Dutch and Irish descent and is a retired Hollywood cinematographer and Emmy-award-winning television lighting director. He worked on the soap opera Santa Barbara and the sitcom Married With Children through the '80s and '90s. In her Allure profile, Meghan recalled the different skin tones of her family members. "I »

First off, it was great to see Betty White as Dr. Beth Mayer one more time.
During her conversations with Brennan, I was beginning to wonder if Brennan was worried about losing her passion for her work.
Brennan had just looked so sad of late, but that could be explained with her father's death.
It turned out Brennan’s focus wasn't on herself but Wendell.
Personally, I was hoping Wendell would take Hodgins' advice and do the Incredible Hulk study on the effect of increased muscle mass on bones.
It is fascinating to see how the show is wrapping up each character's storyline and giving us a glimpse at their possible future.
Wendell is brilliant, and he loves his work family, »

In Christina Applegate's latest film, Youth in Oregon, she plays the adult daughter of a man who plans a road trip to Oregon to make use of the state's Death with Dignity Act, a decision that causes his family's past and future to unravel as everyone's own secrets begin to spill out. In real life, though, the 45-year-old actress' day-to-day sounds increasingly normal.
"Not much to report over here. Making kid breakfast, working out, now going to go pick her up and take her to ballet," Applegate rattled off on a recent Monday during a phone call with Et. "You know, the uzh. My uzh." In addition to her new movie (in select theaters and available On Demand on Feb. 3), the wide-ranging conversation also covered Bad Moms, the recent Women's March and the fact that it has been 30 years since she first donned one of Kelly Bundy's mini-dresses on Married... with Children.
