Rashid was a friend of Jack with thorough occult knowledge, who appeared in the first season finale, and the second season premiere. The original intention in the storylines was that Rashid would be incorporated as a regular cast member in the second season. The producers eventually backed out of this plan when they decided that Rashid could not fit in with the other three leads and his background and knowledge of the supernatural realm could not be perceptible by the audience.
