Trivia

The series was not initially intended as a direct spin-off from The Cosby Show. The original premise centered around Maggie and her experiences as a white student attending a Historically Black College. Eventually it was decided to include Denise on the series, and Maggie instead became a supporting character. When Debbie Allen took over as Producer, she became intrigued by the original idea and wanted to partly center around Maggie and explore related issues as part of her revamping the series. Allen even considered a romantic pairing between Maggie and Dwayne, but ideas relating to Maggie were dropped when Marissa Tomei decided to leave the series. See more »

Goofs

Throughout the course of the series, Whitley's talents go back and forth between being an accomplished singer/dancer and having little to no singing/dancing skills at all. See more »

Gina Devereaux: But he loves me... and I don't want to break up with him.

Why can't colleage really be like this on some levels
16 November 2001 | by (Woodbridge,VA) – See all my reviews

Growing up I always thought that colleage would be similar to this show . Every Thrusday I tuned in to watch the show, my favorite charcter was Dwayne Wayne and I was so happy when he married Whitley. This show made colleage real on some levels and fake on some but it's still one of my favorite shows and always be.
