Plot Summary

Elderly people, Stepanida and her husband Petrok, live in the village of Vyselki when the German occupiers come there. The attempt to somehow get along with strangers ends tragically. The plot of the film reveals the dramatic past of the heroes, when during the years of collectivization they were considered enemies of the Soviet government. At the same time, the film tells about the horrors that the Nazi government brings.
