Eddie's best friend Roger is played by Glen Morgan, his only acting stint. Morgan later went on to be a prolific writer/producer for The X-Files (1993), Final Destination (2000), and Final Destination 3 (2006), as well as direct the Black Christmas (2006) remake.
All songs in the movie are written by the band "Fastway" which consisted of former Motorhead Guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke, and current "Flogging Molly" vocalist Dave King.
Cult movie company Anchorbay were all set to release a special 20th Anniversary Edition DVD of 'Trick or Treat' in 2006, but cancelled it when they encountered problems with the film's music licensing.

W.A.S.P. Frontman, Black Lawless had auditioned to play Sammi Curr. He was close to getting the role, plus he even offered to do the whole Soundtrack album as well if he got the part, but when director, Charles Martin Smith told Blackie that they got Fastway to do the Soundtrack and that he would be lip syncing to them instead Blackie refused the role saying to Smith that he didn't need Fastway's music when he has his own band to do the music.

Kiss Co-founder and Bassist, Gene Simmons was offered the role of Sammi Curr, he opted the cameo role of Rock DJ and Friend of Eddie, Nuke instead. Simmons claimed that he did this because his idol growing up was famous Rock DJ, Wolfman Jack and it was his tribute to him.

Eddie (Mark Price) is wearing an Alternative Tentacles shirt at one point in the movie. Alternative Tentacles was a punk label, founded in 1979 by Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys.
