(1986) Oliver Stone's Vietnam drama captures a grunt's-eye view of the war, as seen through the eyes of a young recruit (Charlie Sheen) tossed into a guerilla war he is neither prepared for nor ready to comprehend. It won 4 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director for Stone. Willem Dafoe and Tom Berenger co-star with Forest Whitaker, Francesco Quinn, John C. McGinley, Richard Edson, Kevin Dillon, Keith David and a very young Johnny Depp. The new 2-disc edition features a commentary and numerous featurettes on the production of the film and the history of the war.
