  Heather Drew : Somebody by the name of Winifred DeWitt.

  [Max rings off; shortly thereafter, he barges into his aunt's study during a meeting] 

  Max Sinclair : *Out!* All of you, get out! I need to speak with my aunt alone.

  Aunt Winifred : These people are on my payroll, not yours! I'm the one who gives the orders in this house!

  Max Sinclair : Then *you* tell them to leave! Now!

  Aunt Winifred : Gentlemen, if you please...

  [the others depart] 

  Aunt Winifred : How dare you barge in here, smelling like a goat and braying like a donkey!

  Max Sinclair : I had no idea you were so treacherous: conniving behind my back for a whole year; taking the side of some corrupt politician against *your own nephew*!

  Aunt Winifred : Who came in here the other day on his knee for a loan?

  Max Sinclair : That loan wasn't for me. It was for six young children, so they'd have a decent home to grow up in!

  Aunt Winifred : Look out your window, Max. There's an industrial settlement encroaching on your land! Your home is the only holdout around here.

  Max Sinclair : And so you, of all people, reached out and grabbed it!

  Aunt Winifred : If you want to play the game, you have to make a bid.

  Max Sinclair : You're wasting your breath; that's your world and your game, not mine.
