Did You Know?
Trivia | In a surprising twist of fate, MGM - whose logo MTM parodied - now owns "Just Between Friends." When Orion Pictures - who originally released this film and owned about 60% of the production - filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 1997, MGM purchased Orion's entire catalog of theatrical films and TV shows, including "Just Between Friends." MGM also owns the films and (most of the) TV shows from American International and Filmways, which were absorbed into Orion in 1982. (MGM recently revived the Orion name; one current production from Orion is - as of this posting - the syndicated daytime TV series "Paternity Court.") See more » |
