House is one of those 80's horror movies that don't get enough attention from movie fans. House is much like movies like The Gate and Critters which features a plot that seems cliché, but they inject it with enough style and fun that the flaws don't bother too much.
Good: Like I said, the movie has the story of a haunted house, but it is injected with a lot of fun. There are monsters, weird dimensions, disembodied hands trying to kill people, and just a bunch of weirdness. It takes the haunted house storyline and adds some Evil Dead style fun and it is some good cheese. William Katt makes for a good lead as he gets to try some slapstick. Great practical effects throughout that brings to life some freaky creatures.
Bad: It isn't a perfect movie as not all the comedy works and it's not scary at all even if that isn't the main goal of the movie.
Overall, this is one fun movie to watch if you love cheesy 80's horror.
