From the psychopathic, Christopher Lambert-bothering Kurgan in Highlander to tyrannical prison warden Byran Hadley in The Shawshank Redemption through to new recruit-maiming drill sergeant Zim in Starship Troopers, it's safe to say that I am one of the many movie fans who have more than just a handful of favourite Clancy Brown roles.
Brown joins an impressive cast that includes Anne Heche and James Tupper for Nothing Left To Fear, the first horror film to come from former Guns 'N' Roses guitarist Slash's production company 'Slasher Films'. Akin to Seventies horror classics The Wicker Man and Rosemary's Baby, Anthony Leonardi III's debut feature channels fears of the occult, secret societies and the supernatural with a modern twist.
We snapped up the chance to get the first word from Clancy himself on his latest role as the ominous Pastor Kingsman, head of a mysterious Baptist church »

Christopher Malcolm, the much-loved stage and screen actor and producer, has died. The Scottish-born actor was 67.We knew him best as 48-kill rebel ace Zev Senesca – Aka ‘Rogue 2’ – in The Empire Strikes Back, without whom Han and Luke would still be wandering Hoth. He also popped up in Bruce Beresford’s Aussie-com The Adventures Of Barry McKenzie, played vigilante Kirk Matunas in Highlander and was dad to Jennifer Connelly's Sarah in Labyrinth, but it was for his work on, and around, the stage that Malcolm was best known.Born on August 19, 1946 in Aberdeen, his father was a farmer but it was his mother’s passion for amateur theatre that kindled a life-long interest in the art. The Malcolm family moved to Canada ten years later and it was in British Columbia that he sacrificed university for his first acting gigs.Returning to the UK, he scored roles in the »

The Scottish actor was perhaps best known for playing the original Brad Majors in the original stage production of The Rocky Horror Show.
His death was confirmed by his daughter Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, who tweeted: "Today the world lost a beautiful, brilliant man."
She added that he "left peacefully and with dignity. He will always be my hero."
Malcolm played Brad Majors in The Rocky Horror Show from 1974, and co-produced the 1990 West End revival.
He later took control of producing the subsequent productions of the Richard O'Brien musical.

Interview Luke Savage 18 Feb 2014 - 06:30
He chopped Sean Connery's head off in Highlander. Saved the human race in Starship Troopers. And was really mean to pretty much everyone in The Shawshank Redemption. His name is Clancy Brown – Clarence J. Brown III if you want to get specific - and he is awesome.
Menacing tough guy, loveable nice guy, he's voiced a merman, Sasquatch, Lex Luthor, plus a character called Mr. Krabs. He even squared up to The Statham in last year's Homefront and lived to tell the tale.
In short, he's the best kind of supporting actor. Any film he's in gets better whenever he's on screen. That's certainly the case with Nothing Left to Fear, the film he's on the other end of a phone to promote. »
Review Ron Hogan 4 Feb 2014 - 07:21
This review contains spoilers.
Not long ago, I praised Teen Wolf for its cast. The longer a show stays on the air, the more connections you begin to see among cast members. For example, Sheriff Stilinski, aka Linden Ashby, isn't in this week's episode. However, a new character—the titular Silverfinger—is in the episode, played with typical style by Cary-Hiroyuke Tagawa. Tagawa is a veteran character actor, but I bring up Linden Ashby for a reason. Linden Ashby was Johnny Cage in the Mortal Kombat movie, alongside Cary-Hiroyuke Tagawa as Shang Tsung and one Christopher Lambert as Raiden. Christopher Lambert is the star of Highlander, which was directed by... Russell Mulcahy, who has been one of the leading figures in Teen Wolf's television renaissance.
