Larry Abbot, speaker in the radio horror shows of Manhattan Mystery Theater wants to marry. For the marriage he takes his fiancée home to the castle where he grew up among his eccentric relatives. According to the 12th October 1984 edition of show-business trade paper 'The Hollywood Reporter, director-actor-writer Gene Wilder
bought the picture remake rights to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM)'s classic comic-mystery movie "Haunted Honeymoon" aka "Busman's Honeymoon" (See: _Haunted Honeymoon (1940_). Wilder's wife, actress-comedian Gilda Radner
, would play the part played in the original by Constance Cummings
, with Wilder playing the part previously portrayed by Robert Montgomery
