Sex & Nudity

  • One scene features some risque dancing and clothing in a Victorian era striptease performance, although no nudity.
  • Lyrics in a song appear risque; a phrase says "I'll take off all my blues," which is more significant considering the singer's costume is all blue.

Violence & Gore

  • Ratigan and Basil fight on the tower of Big Ben.
  • A character is killed by a cat.
  • A couple of scenes include guns.

Profanity

  • The words "Shut up" are used once when Ratigan tries to silence Olivia.
  • 2 uses of 'what in heaven's name'.
  • 1 use of 'stupid'.
  • 2 uses of 'idiot'.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There are several instances that involve smoking and alcohol. A few characters become intoxicated. One character is drugged while another character mentions a drug being in a drink.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some robotic characters twitch and shudder in a way. They also have wide, vacant eyes and their scenes are accompanied by rapid, somewhat unsettling music.
  • Towards the end of the toy shop scene, Olivia is seen walking up to a baby crib that is rocking by itself. She peers in the crib and the bat, Fidget, jumps out at her. It shows his somewhat scary face in very close up detail. He's a pretty creepy character overall.
  • Recommend MPAA Rating: PG: For Scary Images, Violence, Peril, and Some Thematic Elements.
  • Ratigan and his henchmen often appear as menacing. There are a couple of "scare" moments that may frighten the youngest children.
  • Ratigan's cat ate one of his henchman for insulting Ratigan.
  • The bat looks pretty scary.
  • Two of the main characters are put in a deathtrap waiting for it to kill them when a record player is finished playing a recording. At the last moment, one of the characters manages to snap the other out of his depression and inspire him to devise a way to escape, which is completely successful.
