In this fact-based melodrama, Joe Fisk is a juvenile delinquent who falls in love with Lisa Taylor, a Catholic girl's school student, in an Oregon forest. The two meet by chance when the troubled young man stumbles upon her while being chased by his peers in a training exercise, sees the lovely young girl floating in a small lake as she works on a photography assignment. The two are immediately drawn to each other, but neither of their custodians encourage contact of the opposite sex. However, when their relationship is discovered there's trouble all around, forcing the young lovers to flee. The question then remains: Will they be able to escape the law and other authorities long enough to find happiness? Written by Bambi Ross <>

Joe Fisk: So, uh, what were you doing out in the forest?
Lisa Taylor: That's my secret hobby. Photography.
Joe Fisk: Really?
Lisa Taylor: I was taking pictures of myself.
Joe Fisk: Why?
Lisa Taylor: Well, I was supposed to be Ophelia.
Joe Fisk: Oh, right. That's, um... the painting out in the hallway. Right?
Lisa Taylor: Yeah. You're very observant.
Joe Fisk: Well, I saw you in the forest... Did you see me?
Lisa Taylor: Of course I saw you. That's why you're here.

One of the best!
23 March 1999 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

> I really enjoyed this movie. Virginia Madsen looks absolutely ravishing. Terrific performances from Madsen and Craig Schiffer. One of their early movies. It's not a teenage love story as some would believe, so you should really check this one out. Good music as well, the title song 'Fire with Fire' is a real treat. Rent this one NOW!
