Valerie Harper is not in a coma, despite a report claiming otherwise.

The actress, who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer more than two years ago, took to Facebook to explain what really happened when she fell ill at Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine this week.

Valerie Harper 'Not In A Coma'

Valerie Harper is not in a coma, according to the theatre company in Maine, where she was performing prior to her hospitalization this week.

On Friday, a spokesperson for the Ogunquit Playhouse issued a statement to Access Hollywood regarding the reports swirling around the actress' condition.

"Executive Artistic Director Bradford Kenney has been in direct communication with Valerie's family from the beginning and can report that Valerie is not, and has never been, in a coma. She is currently enjoying her family’s company while resting at an undisclosed location," the statement read.

Valerie Harper's TV family is pulling for her recovery.

Jason Bateman, who played the actress' son on '80s sitcom "Valerie," spoke to Access Hollywood on Thursday about Harper's prognosis.

"She's a very, very special person," the actor said of Harper at the premiere of his new film, "The Gift," in Hollywood. "And someone I learned a lot from, so I think she'll come through great."

Valerie Harper was hospitalized Wednesday night during a performance of her musical “Nice Work If You Can Get It” at the Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine. The 75-year-old actress, a five-time Emmy winner for the ’70s sitcoms “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “Rhoda,” was taken by ambulance to York Hospital after reporting that she was feeling unwell. Harper is “resting comfortably and will remain in the hospital for observation for the time being,” according to a statement posted on the Playhouse’s website on Thursday. “The audiences and all of us here at the Playhouse are greatly enjoying our time with Valerie here in. »

Update: According to a statement released by York General Hospital, which did not release any information regarding her illness, Valerie Harper was discharged Thursday morning.

Classic sitcom actress Valerie Harper was rushed to the hospital last night in Maine in the middle of a performance of "Nice Work If You Can Get It."

As Et reports, the 75-year-old actress, who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2013, an ambulance was called to the Ogunquit Playhouse to take her to a nearby hospital. The musical's artistic director announced to the audience that Harper had fallen ill, but "she wants all of you to know after some fluids and rest she hopes to be right back here on stage later this week."

However, a source told Et that the situation "doesn't look good" and a crew member said that Harper had been ill all week.
