Did You Know?

The school used in the first three seasons was Daisy Avenue Public School, now called Vincent Massey Public School. At the time a private school was operating on the first floor, Degrassi was mostly shot on the second floor and the ground gym floor was used for the school dances and the science fair in one episode. The front entrance was also used when the private school was not in session. The school is located in Toronto on Daisy Avenue. The same hallway on the second floor was used in all the scenes that featured characters by their lockers, different camera angles and locker configurations were used to give the allusion of various different hallways. The Dundas street public school was used for the background shots and was also used in The Kids of Degrassi Street. The school used for Degrassi High was a teachers college and is now part of Centennial College.

Several crew members appeared on screen; art director Judy Shiner appeared as a customer at Spike's Mom's salon in the episode Degrassi High: It's Late, picture editor 'Rob de Lint' appeared as a cashier in the episode Degrassi High: Great Expectations, and Susin Nielsen one of the writers played Louella, the caretaker of Degrassi Jounior High in the episodes Degrassi High: Dog Days and Degrassi High: Season's Greetings.

Script supervisor Selene Strilesky appeared in the episode Degrassi High: Little White Lies as a street walker who flirts with Joey.

Earl Grey Senior Public School was used in the third season as Borden High School were the grade 9 students went to take their science classes. In real life many of the actors attended classes there and creator Linda Schuyler had taught there. The cafeteria was used in the episode Degrassi High: Season's Greetings.
