Storyline

Cristina Carver (Angelica Maria) finds herself in dire straits after she arrives to spend some time with her TV-reporter husband (Dean Stockwell) who is visiting a Latin American country run by a military dictator. After a car accident one day, Cristina brings the helpful Col. Kostik (Donald Pleasence) home and then kills him in self-defense when he violently attempts to rape and murder her. Terrified, she covers up her act and hides the body, yet in spite of her husband's efforts to protect her, a local police detective starts to figure out what really happened. Written by Dylan Conner

Great fun (sort of)
11 January 2000 | by (Toulouse, France) – See all my reviews

TO KILL A STRANGER (French video title is LE TUEUR) sure ain't no masterpiece. It's great secondhand fun, though. The first half-hour is highly enjoyable, thanks to Donald Pleasence acting sillier than ever (I know what I'm talking about). His performance alone makes it well worth watching the film, which is a solid thriller, even if it's not particularly mind-blowing (the look of the film is outrageously rooted in the 1980s). Dean Stockwell's in it too, which adds to the curiousness and uniqueness of this rather superior-than-average B movie.
