Nightmare on Elm Street Fan Trailer Gives Freddy a Netflix Series
Despite off and on talks of a reboot supposedly happening, the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise is currently dormant, although one enterprising fan has offered a look at what the franchise might look like if it took a far different approach. While we wait for word on the Nightmare on Elm Street reboot, a YouTube user has debuted a new fan trailer that shows what A Nightmare on Elm Street Netflix TV series might look like. While there is no indication that this franchise may be heading down the streaming service route, the trailer is certainly an intriguing one to look at.

This trailer was put together by a YouTube user named Jose Mellinas, who uses footage from A Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer Concept, the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street and Freddy vs Jason. The trailer also features footage from a number of movies that don't feature Freddy Krueger,

Scream, Queen! Trailer Explores the Gay Side of Nightmare on Elm Street 2
One of the most controversial Nightmare on Elm Street sequels is getting its own standalone documentary from those who lived through the making of it. The first trailer and poster has been released for Scream, Queen: My Nightmare on Elm Street, which explores the gay subtext in the iconic 1985 sequel A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. The sequel helped cement the horror legacy of Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) but it didn't do much of anything for the movie's other star, Mark Patton, whose career quickly dissipated after the sequel was released. Along with the first footage from this documentary, we also have the unique poster, which pays homage not only to a key scene in the sequel, with the iconic Freddy glove hand placed over a man's crotch, but also the movie's gay overtones. Here's what poster artist Matt Ryan Tobin had to say about the one-sheet.

Countdown to Halloween - A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The DreamWarriors (1987)

To countdown to this year's Halloween, Luke Owen reviews a different horror film every day of October. Up next; A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors...

A Nightmare on Elm Street is not only one of the best movies of the slasher sub-genre, but horror movies in general. While its sequel was a huge letdown, the return of Wes Craven to the series brought about a movie that many feel bettered its original - A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors. Along with Frank Darabont and Chuck Russel (who also served as director), Craven created a movie that not only captures the brilliance of his first installment, but improved upon it.

Ignoring the events of the second movie, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors sees a group of Freddy survivors in a psychiatric ward, working together to make sure they don't fall asleep

Countdown to Halloween - A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985)

To countdown to this year's Halloween, Luke Owen reviews a different horror film every day of October. Up next; A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge...

When Wes Craven signed a deal with New Line Cinemas to get A Nightmare on Elm Street made, he also signed over the movie name and any character likeness with the feeling that a sequel would probably never get put together. But the success of the movie was still ringing in the ears of Robert Shaye who pushed a sequel forward without the series creator, based on a script written by David Chaskin titled A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge.

Often referred to as the Top Gun of the series, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge is a movie that doesn't really feel like a genuine sequel to Craven's masterpiece as the pair have very little in common. The themes are different,

What Is the Best Second Installment of a Horror Franchise?

  • Fandango
Insidious: Chapter 2 is out this weekend, and we all have high hopes that it'll be as good as the original. With a lot of horror movies, it's easy to have low expectations for the sequel, but a lot of horror movies don't have the level of quality we saw in the first Insidious. And many that do have the goods aren't followed with a sequel that's from the same writer and director (that would be Leigh Whannell and James Wan here). Just think if Psycho 2 could have been made by Hitchcock or Jaws 2 by Spielberg or A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge by Wes Craven.  Because of the commonly large drop in quality from an original horror movie and its first sequel, we want to focus on second installments. What is the best "Part Two"? If we...

Blu Review: Sadako 3D

  • Cinelinx
Oh, Sadako 3D. How unfulfilled I was left after watching you. I waited many months for a proper U.S. release and Well Go USA fulfilled my want. Unfortunately, my excitement was drowned out by an offensive mish mash of A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, and The Exorcist: The Version You've never Seen.

A high school teacher named Akane (Satomi Ishihara) hears rumors of a cursed video clip circulating online. The clip is said to show a man, Kashiwada (Yûsuke Yamamoto), commiting suicide. Supposedly, anyone who watches the video is driven to commit suicide themselves. Akane refuses to believe the rumors until one of her students mysteriously dies after viewing it.

Akane soon discovers that Kashiwada intends to use the clip to cause chaos and death, which will help the spirit of Sadako (Ai Hashimoto) find a host body for her to possess.
