Feature-length special from the popular TV series "Minder". Saving deceased gangster Jack South's daughter Nikki from an attack by hired thugs earns "minder" Terry McCann a trip for two across Europe on the famous Orient Express. But a perfect romantic opportunity with his girlfriend Annie is ruined when his dodgy employer & "friend" Arthur Daley cons his way onto the trip to avoid a court appearance, and Terry again finds himself battling to protect Nikki from a whole train load of sinister characters all after Nikki's legacy. Add to this a Mafia hitman, a gun-toting Interpol officer and an unwelcome appearance by Terry & Arthurs' London nemesis, the long suffering Detective Sergeant Chisholm... Written by Anonymous

Did You Know?

This episode was pitched deliberately against the first feature-length Christmas special of Only Fools and Horses.... (1981) in 1985 since the shows were considered rivals what with they're similar characters and scenarios. David Jason never considered them rivals since he was a big fan of Minder (1979) and felt it was something stirred up by the press just to sell newspapers. In the end, Only Fools came out ahead with an audience of 17 million, which shocked Jason. See more »

Feature length edition of the ever popular series.....
4 November 2000 | by (Bristol, England) – See all my reviews

This is a pure treat for any Minder fan. Nearly 2 hours in the company of Arthur, Terry and other less desirable characters. It's a shame that we see next to nothing of Arthur's selling abilities, but it's still extremely entertaining. There's visual comedy as well as the more subtle and funny one liners from George Cole and Dennis Waterman. Lines such as 'I am of course married....to my wife" and when learning about Terry's trip on the Orient Express: "What do you want tickets to a Chinese takeaway for?", just are magic. Delivered by Cole in such a way that everything goes smoothly. Very funny, very witty, extremely good performances from all cast members. It's brilliant. Chisholm is also a welcome extra.
