We don't need another hero, as Tina Turner once so passionately hollered in the theme song for Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. As the director of that franchise, George Miller, would have it, she was right — we need another two. Or, at least, another couple of Mad Max movies.
"Somewhere, if the planets align, there will be two other films," he told The Independent about future prospects for the series following 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road. One minute you're watching a martial arts fight-fest, and before you know it, a Road Buddy movie breaks out!
On Into the Badlands Season 2 Episode 2, Sunny and Bajie have to fight for their lives, but what follows is a very funny take on the mismatched, buddy, road movie trope.
I really love this season so far, and the main reason is the humor that has come into the plot.
The whole Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome vibe was in full effect, with the battle between The Engineer's champ Mouse and the chained duo of Sunny and Bajie.
It brought back fond memories of Master Blaster, but with a far deadlier result.
I was surprised how well Bajie fought, being such a big guy and all. And the constant snarky remarks were totally hilarious.
You could tell Daniel Wu, who plays Sunny, was having a blast, what with all the great facial reactions to Bajie's wisecracks. »

Sometimes it can end disastrously, or you may just be able to maintain a reasonable finish, but in the end you’ll still look back and wonder whether you missed out on greatness because of one misjudgement on your spin.
I’ve watched Logan. The trailers were fantastic. The hype big and the reviews first rate. This was surely going to be immense. For the first hour or so it was. This saw a dark, tragic and beaten down Wolverine, meandering slowly to his grave in 2029. The world the X-Men inhabited, that we’ve seen »
Long-gestating followups include blockbusters like “Jurassic World” and famous flops like “Blues Brothers 2000” George Miller took nearly 30 years to follow up “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome” with the Tom Hardy-Charlize Theron thriller “Mad Max: Fury Road.” “The Odd Couple II” is among the sequels with the biggest gaps between films. Twenty-nine years after the 1968 original, Jack Lemmon returned as Felix Unger and Walter Matthau was Oscar Madison in their last film together. “Tron: Legacy” came 28 years after the original, and featured Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner.
