Burstyn's performance propels film.
5 October 2000 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

A college student disappears on his way from Canada to Colorado; and his parents and brothers attempt to uncover the truth about what happened, despite the fact that the police are seemingly unwilling to help.

Ellen Burstyn's powerhouse performance as the boy's mother propels the film, a searing peek inside the often ludicrous complexities of police and FBI investigative processes.

The mystery will lure in the viewers and engross them, but the grim nature of the film will eventually repel.

Based on a true story.
