Character error

When we first meet the Underhills, he is arguing with the waiter. Mrs. Underhill calls her husband Tom. Later in the movie when Mr. Underhill is at Mrs. Stanwyk's cabana, he introduces himself as Ted.

Mr. Underhill complains about lunch being $400, however that total is much too low. Fletch ordered 2 bottle of Dom Perignon at $100 a bottle, 2 potions of caviar at $80 each, he gives the waiter $30 and tells the servers to give each other $20. That already comes to $430. The total does not even include the 2 orders of Lobster Thermadore or whatever the Underhills themselves had.

Everytime the name "Stanwyk" is spelled in the first part of the film, it is spelled "Stanwyk". Fletch spells the name for his research assistant (played by Geena Davis) - STANWYK, no "C". The credits of the film say it is "Stanwyk". But when Fletch is at the ticket counter, the computer screen says "Stanwyck".

Errors in geography

When Fletch is escaping from the shotgun wielding man in what is supposed to be Provo, Utah, right after his rear window is shot out, you can clearly see Palm trees in the background. Provo, Utah does not have Palm trees indicating the scene was shot somewhere else. Most likely southern California.

During Fletch's dream of playing for the Lakers, we see a top down shot of him as he tries to drive the lane for a basket. At the top of the screen for a few seconds it is revealed that the court ends at half court and is therefore not a complete regulation NBA basketball court, and is instead a sound stage as opposed to a sports arena.

During the basketball dream sequence the center court circle painting is only half of the logo/design, revealing it as a set piece or incomplete assembly of an actual arena parquet for the filming.
