Grapes of wrath
10 July 2009 | by See all my reviews

Claude Faraldo's works have undergone some changes since his "revolutionary " days ,when his so called daring mind-boggling movies ,the likes of "themroc" and " Bof....Anatomie D'Un Livreur" were hailed as innovative .It muted in "Deux Lions Au Soleil" ,a work not devoid of misogyny . "Flagrant Desir" leads the director into Chabrol's territory .The presence of three American actors does not make the movie a masterpiece for all that. Some kind of "Dallas" in miniature in the vineyards of Bordeaux .It's certainly more palatable and more accessible than Faraldo's earlier efforts ,it's rather entertaining ,but not particularly memorable.Sam Wasterton is dubbed in French.
