While promoting Transformers: The Last Knight, which hits theaters on June 21, Michael Bay revealed once again that Transformers 5 will in fact be the last film he directs in the franchise. Here's what he had to say below.

"These movies that I've done, they are massive movies. They take a lot out of you. I've done it enough, and I've had a great time doing it. I'm going out with a bang on this one, and I feel like you gotta go out while you're ahead, you know. I think I've had a good run, »

Boba Fett Inspired T.J. Miller's Ready Player One Character

18 May 2017 11:03 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Silicon Valley star T.J. Miller reveals that his character in the upcoming Ready Player One movie is pretty much Boba Fett. The Steven Spielberg helmed project has been in production since April of 2016 and was originally supposed to have a release date of December 15th 2017, but it was later announced that the movie would be pushed back to avoid competition with The Last Jedi. Ready Player One is based off of the New York Times bestseller science fiction book by Ernest Cline and will be Steven Spielberg's first partnership with Warner Bros. since 2001's A.I.. Not much is known about the movie besides the cast, but we do know that T.J. Miller will be playing a character that was invented for the movie and that said character is a big Star Wars fan.

Miller sat down with Fandango to promote his upcoming Emoji movie and they also asked him about Ready Player One. »

Newswire: T.J. Miller is basically playing Boba Fett in Ready Player One

18 May 2017 8:30 AM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

The geek pastiche of Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One knows no bounds (beyond those of Oasis, the immersive Mmorpg at the story’s center). Its dystopian treasure hunt pulls in allusions to Blade Runner, Rush, Dungeons And Dragons, and an arcade’s worth of vintage video games. Those allusions won’t include any Steven Spielberg films as long as Ready Player One director Steven Spielberg has any say in it, but according to T.J. Miller, movies made by Spielberg’s friends aren’t off limits.

In an interview with Fandango, the Silicon Valley star and party-crashing emoji discusses his Ready Player One role, which was created specifically for the movie. “Basically I am a funny, or at least mildly amusing, Boba Fett,” he says, a bounty hunter working within the Oasis at the behest of Ready Player One’s Darth Vader figure, Nolan Sorrento. Though there’s really ...

T.J. Miller shares details on his Boba Fett-obsessed Ready Player One character

17 May 2017 10:30 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Actor T.J. Miller (DeadpoolSilicon Valley) has recently given some details on his character in the upcoming adaptation of Ernest Cline’s best-selling novel Ready Player One. Chatting with Fandango, the actor reveals that he is playing an original character for the film adaptation:

“I’m not in the book. Some plot points are different, but I’m the only new character. I play i-R0k and basically I am a funny, or at least mildly amusing, Boba Fett. In the Oasis, I am a better player than Aech or Daito or any of those guys. I am sort of unequivocally the best bounty hunter, but I work freelance. While all the Sixers work for Ioi and Sorrento [Ben Mendelsohn], he has to commission me and I get an incredibly high fee to either find people and kill them or make them starve in the game.”

For those unfamiliar with the source material, the dystopian novel is set int the year 2044. Billionaire James Halliday passes away, and upon his death, a huge scavenger hunt is launched within Oasis, a huge massively multiplayer online game that he created. The winner will receive his entire estate. The book follows Wade Watts, a high schooler who manages to find the first big clue in this hunt, painting a target on his back, and setting him forth on a dangerous mission to attain Halliday’s riches.

Before getting into the specific details regarding this story (which will include character specifics), it’s important to give a little bit of extra backstory. The scavenger hunt set off by Halliday goes on for years without anyone finding clues. However, there is one company, »

Kathleen Kennedy on whether the Skywalker story will continue past Star Wars: Episode IX

16 April 2017 4:00 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

A few weeks ago Disney’s Bob Iger revealed that Lucasfilm was beginning to map out the next 15 years of Star Wars movies, and now during an interview with Fandango at Star Wars Celebration, Kathleen Kennedy has been discussing whether the Skywalker saga will extend beyond 2019’s Star Wars: Episode IX, or if the focus will shift to Anthology movies.

“I certainly foresee movies past nine. Whether or not we carry on the Skywalker saga… you know, George always intended nine movies, and whether we continue that or not is something we’re talking about right now. If the story warrants it, we’ll absolutely do it. If it actually inspires new ideas, then we’ll probably head in that direction. We just don’t know yet.”

Lucasfilm Unsure About The Future Of The Skywalker Saga After Current Trilogy

15 April 2017 1:05 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Star Wars: Episode IX, the final entry in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, is still over two years away, but the big wigs at Lucasfilm are already planning what comes next. As yesterday’s trailer for The Last Jedi so mysteriously suggested, the ongoing saga following the Skywalker family may take a sinister turn.

The trailer ends with a determined Luke saying, “It’s time for the Jedi to end,” leading many to believe the legendary hero has betrayed the values and principles that once saved the galaxy. Regardless of how you interpret it, one thing remains certain: Luke Skywalker is not the same.

In an interview with Fandango, Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy made the following statement regarding Luke, Leia and Kylo Ren’s future in the franchise:

“I certainly foresee movies past nine. Whether or not we carry on the Skywalker saga….you know, George always intended nine movies, »

Fate of Skywalker Saga Undecided After Star Wars 9

The Skywalker saga has been going strong for forty years now, ever since the release of Star Wars: A New Hope back in 1977. This year will see the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which we finally got a look at via the first teaser trailer. That is leading up to the conclusion of this new Star Wars trilogy, which will wrap up with Star Wars 9 in 2019 and, according to Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, that could be the last Star Wars movie we ever see as part of the Skywalker saga. Or, it might not.

Star Wars Celebration is currently going on now through Sunday in Orlando, Florida and that means we have been getting a ton of news. During the event, Kathleen Kennedy spoke with Fandango and she was asked whether or not the Skywalker saga will continue on after Star Wars Episode IX. Here is what she had to say about it. »

Imax, Warner Bros. Making ‘Justice League,’ ‘Aquaman’ Virtual Reality Experiences

28 March 2017 6:24 AM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

If virtual reality is truly the new frontier that the entertainment industry hopes it will be, then Warner Bros. and Imax want to be among the pioneers.

The two companies have signed a co-financing and production agreement that will create three interactive Vr experiences based on upcoming Warner Bros. releases. The include “Justice League” and “Aquaman,” two upcoming installments in the studio’s DC Comics movie universe, and a third, yet-to-be announced, project.

For Imax, the push into virtual reality represents a chance to diversify its business. The company is mainly in the business of screening big studio blockbusters and installing its massive theater complexes around the world. Its brand has become synonymous with a certain kind of fanboy entertainment, but that hasn’t always translated into massive revenues. For the fourth quarter of 2016, for instance, Imax made $106.9 million in revenue, a 10% drop from the year-earlier period.

Carrie Fisher Couldn't Tell Rogue One Leia Was CGI

16 March 2017 2:02 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

While Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was nothing short of a smash hit, both critically and commercially, there were some aspects of the film that rubbed fans the wrong way. Perhaps the most controversial aspect of the movie was the use of CGI technology to re-create a younger version of Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia, and the late Peter Cushing's iconic character Gran Moff Tarkin. While this may have upset some fans, director Gareth Edwards revealed today that it didn't upset Carrie Fisher, who actually didn't know that the Leia in the movie was created through CGI.

The production used stand-ins for each role, with Guy Henry portraying Tarkin and Ingvild Deila playing Leia, before CGI was used to digitally replace the actors' faces. While promoting the Digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD release of Rogue One, director Gareth Edwards spoke with Fandango, where he revealed that Carrie Fisher »

What Is the Most Ridiculous Sex Scene From a Movie? — IndieWire Critics Survey

13 February 2017 9:44 AM, PST | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of film and TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Monday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best film in theaters right now?”, can be found at the end of this post.)

This week’s question: In dubious honor of “Fifty Shades Darker,” what is the most ridiculous sex scene from a movie?

Mark Harris (@MarkHarrisNYC), Vulture/Film Comment

I’m sure others will easily top this, but I always think of Sylvester Stallone and Sharon Stone in the terrible 1994 action film “The Specialist,” having laboriously glossy, oiled, carefully pube-concealing, solemn, positionally exhausting intercourse while mouthing tedious expository dialogue in a shower that appears to be the size of a studio apartment. The 90s were a boom time for bad movie sex, and this is Hall of Fame level in that so much money, time and effort has gone »
