david j. moore chats with actor Eric Jacobus…
The world has yet to learn the name Eric Jacobus. Ladies and gentlemen, hear the name and speak it because he’s here, and he’s about to break through. Working way off the grid and completely off the radar, Jacobus, a practitioner of Hapkido, has been building himself up through impressive short films and totally independent feature films, namely with two feature films Contour (2006) and Death Grip (2012), both of which he wrote, directed, and starred in, and the outstanding short films Rope-a-Dope (2013), Rope-a-Dope 2 (2015), and this year’s martial arts comedy Blindsided (2017). He’s already appeared in the second season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy (2014) as Stryker and in Segment A of The ABCs of Death 2 (2014), and he’s on a clear and calculated path of action stardom.

The weekend in film was notable for two things. One was the Oscars. All the glitz, glamour and gaffes that came with that. A time of celebration for those fortunate enough to have been nominated in whichever category they were up for and utter delight for the winners (La La Land for about 8 seconds). However, alongside the handing out of the famous golden statue, there was another headline that caught the attention of film-goers around the world and that was the very sad and untimely passing of Bill Paxton.
If you’ve seen your share of films, particularly in the 80’s and 90’s, then chances are you’ve seen Bill Paxton. Predominantly a sturdy support player over the years, he proved reliable throughout a prolific career. To some though he was more than just a face you »

Bill Paxton, action star and one of James Cameron’s regular collaborators, has passed away at the age of 61. Paxton was one of the big action stars of the ’80s and ’90s and continued to take on gun-toting roles right up to his death. These are the roles he will be most remembered for. “Terminator” (1984) One of Paxton’s earliest appearances was as a spiky-haired punk in “Terminator” who ended up being one of the first on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s kill list. This appearance started a long relationship between Paxton and Cameron that would continue for 13 years. “Commando” (1985) The following year, »

These were followed by memorable turns in films such as Weird Science (1985), Aliens (1986) and Near Dark (1987). He would also reunite with The Terminator and Aliens director James Cameron for 1994’s True Lies and 1997’s Titanic, as well as the 2003 documentary Ghosts of the Abyss.
Paxton’s other notable big screen credits included Predator 2 (making him one of only two actors alongside Lance Henriksen to go up against a Terminator, a Xenomorph and a Predator), Tombstone, Apollo 13, Twister, A Simple Plan, 2 Guns, Edge of Tomorrow and Nightcrawler. He also directed 2001’s Frailty and 2005’s The Greatest Game Ever Played.

In keeping with Celebrity Apprentice tradition, Monday’s premiere summoned 16 relatively familiar faces from all corners of obscurity to compete for camera time. I mean… for a charity of their choosing.
But this being the New edition of the long-running competition show — in which former host Donald Trump has been relegated to a mere executive producer — we also got to spend our first moments with the new head of the boardroom: actor/politician/possible cyborg Arnold Schwarzenegger. He may not have Trump’s business experience, but as a potential boss, »
