Storyline

Clue is a movie about 6 guests, a butler, and a maid, who are all involved in the murders of 6 people. The guests all meet at Hill House, where you learn that Professor Plum works in D.C., where everyone else lives. Colonel Mustard is a client of Miss Scarlet, who is the ex-employer of Yvette, the maid, who had an affair with the husband of Mrs. White, etc. When Mr. Boddy, who is blackmailing each guest, gives the guests each a weapon, he tells them they should kill Wadsworth, the butler, to avoid being exposed. With Mrs. Peacock's craziness, and Mr. Green's clumsiness, the whole group finds themselves tangled in a web of murder, lies, and hilarity. Written by Ali Harton

Trivia

Actress Eileen Brennan had previously starred in an earlier Old Dark House mystery-comedy. That was about nine years earlier in Neil Simon's Murder by Death (1976), a parody of murder mysteries, where Brennan played Tess Skeffington. See more »

Goofs

After Mr. Boddy shuts off the lights in the study, two loud thumps and a person groaning are heard before the gunshot goes off. This would suggest that someone was using one of the bludgeoning weapons (candlestick/pipe/wrench) before the shot was fired, but these sounds remained unexplained for the rest of the film. I laughed till my stomach hurt
9 September 2004 | by (A Chair) – See all my reviews

A hysterical spoof of the well known board game Cluedo, known as Clue

in America. One of the best comic castings ever. Tim Curry as the Butler- brilliantly wild eyed, OTT and campy. Any fan

of The Rocky Horror Picture Show will simply adore his performance in

this film. And Michael McKean as Mr.Green- After This Is Spinal Tap, he

gives his best performance in Clue. The cast really does not have any

weak spots who are all supported by a very funny script. John Landis at

his mid eighties best. The only downer is the different endings use similar script which does

get a little tiresome, but apart from that a flawless comedy. Now go

and see it!
