Sex & Nudity

Suggested MPAA rating: R for Language including some sexual references, drug use, and thematic material

Sex & Nudity: 4/10

Bender is always making sexual references and jokes.

Bender hides underneath a table and sticks his head between Claire's legs, looking up her skirt.

Allison talks about how shes done everything and anything sexual, including "nailing" her shrink. We later learn that this is a joke.

Violence & Gore

Violence & Gore: 3/10

Bender talks about his abusive father and shows a cigar burn mark on his arm from his father.

Andrew and Bender verbally assault one another, and Andrew takes Bender down to the ground for a brief moment.

Bender pulls out a pocket knife and says that he'll kill Andrew if he takes him down again.

Bryan talks about why he was in Saturday school, and the reason was for having a gun in his locker. He then leads on the group by saying that he "can't have an "F", implying suicide. We later learn that it was only a flare gun.

Profanity

Profanity: 7/10

26 uses of the F-word

22 uses of "shit"

7 uses of "Goddamn"

Several other "lighter" profanities are said throughout.

I have personally counted each one the foul words used in this movie.

The language is what gave the movie it's rating

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: 6/10

Bender has marijuana in his locker.

The group does marijuana and gets high.

Bender smokes a cigarette.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: 5/10

When the group has their discussion, the main topic is the abuse of their parents and how bad their lives are at home.

The movie gets to be very emotionally intense.

[b]A main topic of this movie is teen abuse. Each character has a story to tell about an abusive or stressful situation at home with their parents.

I think a mature 13 year old can handle this
