Let's take a moment to appreciate the greatness of Kylie Minogue. Bella Heathcoate Enters Twylight Zones

14 December 2010 4:01 PM, PST | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

David Chase is still drawing from the pool of relatively unknown actors for his rock pic, which apparently now goes by the title Twylight Zones: Bella Heathcote is joining the cast.Back in October we learned of Chase’s move to cast three largely unknown actors – Will Brill, John Margaro and Jack Huston in his coming-of-age drama, as well as asking Sopranos veteran and Bruce Springsteen band member Steven Van Zandt to add the movie some extra cred as music supervisor. The film, which at one point was called The Twilight Zones (wonder if rights confusion with the legendary anthology show scuppered the original version), follows three high school friends who form a band in the 1960s. Inspired by their influences, including the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and The Beatles, they decide to take a chance, and end up experiencing the highs and lows of fame.Heathcote, an Aussie veteran of Neighbours, »

It’s a tough choice, but someone’s got to make a decision here. Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman project is ramping up the casting process by getting some potential leads in mind. But who will they choose?

Before we get to that, Relativity Media is gearing up for their dueling version of Snow White, directed by Tarsem (The Fall, The Cell), and Deadline reports they are interested in Julia Roberts taking the lead role. Like Universal’s project, this is also fast-tracked. Now on to Universal’s shortlist:

So, Charlize Theron is in the running for the evil queen, and Michael Fassbender could be the title’s huntsman, but what about the orphan girl with raven hair and ruby red lips?

Neighbours' executive producer Susan Bower has insisted that the soap has a "strong future" at home and abroad. The Ramsay Street show will change channels in Australia in the New Year, switching to Network Ten's new digital station Eleven following recent poor ratings. Viewing figures for Neighbours have fallen to as low as 385,000 on Ten this year, but programme bosses are hoping that it can be a strong performer as Eleven's flagship show in 2011. Reflecting on the drama's performance this year, Bower told The Sunday Telegraph: "Ratings weren't all that flash, yes, but the stories were amazing and we had a very positive response from the audience. Dannii Minogue: 'X Factor is incredible… but I could be gone tomorrow'

Jess Cartner-Morley talks to Dannii Minogue about motherhood, Kylie and Simon Cowell

Funny how famous Dannii Minogue is now. She arrives at our studio with no fanfare, one hand wheeling behind her a small case of clothes and kit, the other holding a packet of crisps, says her hellos, spots my Dictaphone, sits down. So unassuming is she that a runner who has arrived with a tray of Diet Cokes taps her on the shoulder to ask where he should put them. When she turns around, his face goes white. She just smiles and in her chirpy Aussie twang answers his query straight up, but all the time he is backing away, apologising. When 17 million people watch you on TV every Saturday night, you're not B-list any more.

Also, whatever you may have read, she doesn't look fake or plastic; she's gorgeous. She arrives groomed to within an inch of her life, »

Guy Pearce: Don't look down

Guy Pearce was the sunny Neighbours pin-up who became a Hollywood star. Then a 'mini nervous breakdown' struck. He tells Ryan Gilbey how he picked himself up again

A few years ago, Guy Pearce's thought his acting career was on the wane. He was being passed over for the roles he wanted, and being offered ones he didn't. When he did work on movies as distinctive as those that had sealed his reputation (La Confidential, Memento), it tended to be in the capacity of professional guest star: he was the kind but mildly creepy stranger at the end of The Road, and the one you don't expect to die at the start of The Hurt Locker. When the latter film cleaned up at the Oscars, the congratulations only made him feel fraudulent. "I wanted to say, 'No, no, you've got the wrong person,'" he cringes. It was, he says, »
