Enter Mr. Lynn Belvedere, a one-time servant of the British Royal Family, to keep this household in order despite George's apprehension.

Things reach a head when a tornado forces everyone in the basement and a pool contest begins between George and Belvedere and neither one of them will allow something like the weather to interfere with their competition.

At a Fast Food restaurant, Mr. Belvedere meets an insufferable girl, and realizes that her family needs him just as much as the Owens family does. But soon, the Owens family begin to see less and less of Mr. Belvedere, and eventually, an all-out war between families over who gets to keep him, occurs.

Wendy comes back from college, engaged to a guy she met there. The guy asks Kevin to be his best man. At her bridal shower, a drunken Wendy comes onto Kevin, making him wonder if she really wants to marry the guy.

Marsha returns home one day, and is furious when she finds out that her beloved "Home Sweet Home" pillow is ruined. She quickly accuses of Wesley of his actions, but Wesley denies any of it, and soon, everyone has a different account of what happened. But unbeknown to George and Marsha, Wesley is actually the "fall guy", and soon, evidence begins to emerge of what really happened.

It's Christmas time and everyone of the Owens prefers not to do the usual tradition. And Belvedere is not exactly joyful. So Wesley does a little snooping and thinks it's because he has a lost love. So he brings her over and everyone is shocked to see who she is.

Wesley needs someone to use for his history assignment, so he considers using his father, whose Korean War stories have always wowed him. But then later he finds out he made the whole thing up, which disappoints him. Meanwhile, Mr. Belvedere feels left out over a family portrait.

Kevin takes an art class and meets a girl and hit it off. But when he learns she's the model who poses naked things get weird. When Heather rats Wesley out, he decides to get back by gas lighting her.

The TV station tells George to do an editorial. When his first one bombs, Belvedere suggests that he add some controversy. So George decides to suggest that the National Anthem be discontinued at baseball games. The station manager then instructs George to quit but Marsha reminds him that he has a contract with the station. However, the station assigns George every demeaning assignment there is. When his replacement gets ill, the team asks that George fill in. When George appears on TV, he chooses not to apologize but states that he recalls a time when people at the ball games would stand up and look proud which he feels not too many people do these days. After that George has his old job back.

Angela and Heather are volunteering at a retirement home. They try to cheer up one of the residents but he's difficult. So try everything until he tells them what he wants.

Heather and Angela give Mr. Sparks what he wants; to go to Atlantic City. They bring Wesley along. She calls Belvedere and tells him where they are and he freaks out. Afterwards George and Marsha call to tell him they are going to Atlantic City. Kevin arrives and Belvedere asks Kevin to take him to Atlantic City but his car is broken so they hitch a ride with Robert Goulet. After Heather and her companions check in, they take Mr. Sparks out while Wesley wants to try his gambling system but because he is underage, he stays in the room. And Belvedere and George and Marsha arrive at the same hotel and they miss each other.

When the station decides to change their sets which means that George has to fully appear on screen so he's told that he has to lose some weight. So they arrange for him to go to a weight loss camp. Wanting someone to come with him he drags Belvedere along. When they get there, Belvedere adheres to the program but George doesn't and they get thrown out. So they try to find another way to lose the weight.

When he realizes she likes him, he takes her out hoping that she'll be so starry eyed that she can't concentrate on her football and he can play. And it works only problem is the team is now losing games and they blame him.

When Marsha becomes unhappy with the law job she got, she quits and becomes a waitress but doesn't tell the family. Carl gets Kevin to join a contest wherein they could win a car if they hold on to a car the longest.

When Belvedere is laid up, they try to find someone to fill in. And by happenstance, Belvedere's cousin Galen, whom Belvedere can't stand, shows up. And takes over. But also it seems that he's come to settle an old score with Belvedere.

Kevin meets a feisty woman while trying to get rid of his roommate's pet.
Season 5, Episode 8: The Curse2 December 1988
Anatole, a foreigner who was Kevin's roommate till he threw him out, goes to the Owens along with his goat, as per his country's tradition that when someone is thrown out by someone, the family of the one who threw him out must take him in. But when they decide not to, he puts a curse on them. And now they are plagued by all sorts bad luck and misfortune. Kevin tries to adjust living with his new roommate, Casey.

When George appears on one of the stations talk shows, the host Barbara Collins takes a liking to George and makes him her new co-host. But she expects him to do more which he's not willing to do. And when he refuses she causes some problems for him like getting him removed from the sports desk and coming to his house.

When Marsha is his latest victim, they decide to go in drag to get him. But he strikes where they were not patrolling which leads Belvedere to suspect that the bandit is closer than they think.

Wesley decides to run for class president and is ready to play dirty. But when he learns that his opponent is a paraplegic, he decides not to. But his opponent is just as, probably more devious than Wesley. And it's Belvedere's birthday and he tells the Owens that he would rather that they not do anything. But he is constantly expecting them to surprise him which they don't.

When George and Marsha decide to go on a cruise, they leave Belvedere in charge of the kids but when he gets a call from the Royal Family asking him to return he bolts leaving George and Marsha in a lurch. So they ask Kevin to look after the kids while they're away. George and Marsha learn that they were booked on a freighter, and it's during the cruise that they find themselves drafted onto helping out on the ship. And when things get out of control at the house, Kevin's roommate Casey has to step in to put things in order.

Wesley is grounded but he sneaks out. So Belvedere goes after him but gets in an accident and ends up in a coma. The Owens stand over him. That's when he leaves his body and sees them standing over him. That's when he's approached by an Angel who calls herself Angel who looks like Angela. She tells him that they're waiting to see if he will be called to the next world or if he will return. And he says he is needed because without him the Owens would end up in chaos. But Angel shows him they can make it without him.

After getting locked in the attic, Wesley T. Owens and Lynn Aloysius Belvedere bring back humorous memories since Mr. Belvedere met the Owens' family.
Season 6, Episode 1: The Field16 September 1989
It's George's birthday. He's been pushing Wesley to excel at baseball and when Wesley decides to cheat, George is upset at him and Wesley say she did it for him. When they throw him a party, and help George relive some of life's greatest moments but only shows him at how he has done nothing he set out to do, like play baseball with some greats. So Belvedere decides to give George a different present. The next day at Wesley's game, he arranged for some great players like Hank Aaron, Willy Mays, Reggie Jackson, Johnny Bench, and Ernie Banks to be there. and along with George and Robert Goulet play Wesley's team.

George and Wesley try to get on a father son game show but at a practice run, George sucks, so Wesley asks Belvedere to fill in. But at the show Belvedere dominates the game.
Season 6, Episode 3: Truckin'7 October 1989
Belvedere gets George to invest in live commodities, pigs. While Belvedere sells out, George holds on to it without knowing that if he doesn't sell them, he will have to take possession of them. So dozens of pigs are sent to him. So he has to unload them. And the only buyer is out of town. So he hires a truck and he and Belvedere set out to deliver them. Eventually they like being truckers and decide to do it leaving Marsha and the kids.

Wesley decides to adopt a big kid and use him as a bodyguard.

George and Marsha are planning a trip but when George learns that they have to fly to get there, he backs down. When Belvedere learns that George has a fear of flying he does what he can to help. He takes George to the amusement park and they both go on the Ferris wheel. However, when they get stuck George's fear increases. Belevedere then enrolls George in a fear of flying therapy group.

Wesley makes a movie starring Mr. Belvedere for school. Heather's new boyfriend tries to not take no for an answer after the homecoming dance.

When a woman claims that Wesley's dog is harassing hers and worried that he might impregnate her dog which she plans to breed. They instruct Wesley to have his dog fixed which he tells him they did. But when the woman returns with puppies she claims were sired by Wesley's dog, Wesley has to find homes for them.

When the owner of Belvedere's favorite Donut shop dies and leaves the donut shop to him, it upsets Lou Anne, the employee who thought she's getting it. So she quits. When Belvedere spends too much time at the donut shop, the Owens hire Lou Anne to help out.
Season 6, Episode 15: Runaways1990
Wesley runs away with Lou-Anne's daughter, Sheila. Meanwhile, the Owens family must help Belvedere overcome a curse.
Heather attempts to sabotage a beauty pageant.
Season 6, Episode 17: The Baby1990
Marsha gets attached to a baby that is waiting to be adopted.
Season 6, Episode 18: Bad Marsha1990
A criminal, that Marsha is supposed to defend, that looks exactly like her, knocks the real Marsha out cold, and takes over her life.
Season 6, Episode 19: Home1990
Mrs. Checchini comes to Belverdere begging for his help. It seems like her family wants to put her in a home. Belvedere doesn't do anything. And when he goes to visit her, he finds her with no spark as she usually does.
Season 6, Episode 20: Mumsy1990
Mr. Belvedere's mom comes over for a visit, and while everyone else seems to love her very much, Mr. Belvedere, however, seems to be ashamed of her.

While at the laundromat with Wesley, Mr. Belvedere sees a very nice woman who works in the jungles of Africa, but came to Beaver Falls after work in the jungle had been put on hiatus.

Louise and Mr. Belvedere decide to get married, but Louise soon breaks the news to him that she has been called to go back Africa, and wants him to come with her. He agrees, but not without a final goodbye from old friends Skip, Angela, Robert Goulet, and of course, the Owens family, who have enjoyed six years of his company.
