Wow, as child of the 80's I'd never heard or seen this TV movie ever! Well, thankfully, or not, one of the local TV stations decided to use it for filler one Sunday afternoon in 2001. OMG, you'd think this movie was written as a parody. You heard right. An elite group of girls (think Charlies Angels) works undercover at night as secret agents and by day are aerobics instructors at the cutting edge studio Velvet. Oooh soo 80's physical. But there's more, their secret base is hidden in the aerobics studio.
In the beginning, Shari Belafonte wearing her trademark thin neon headband and huge mouth of pearly whites, shows the 'new gal' the ropes and they show her how the the wall where the reception desk is opens up to reveal their secert base, full of walls of computers with blinking lights that don't' really do anything. They have a hi tech computer and lounge chairs a la Charles Angels and it's all glam and aerobics and crime fighting. Gotta love it.
The theme song if I can remember is also very 80's new wave with some gals whispering Veeeelllllvettt!
So bad it's good. Nostalgic to the max. You'll enjoy this movie cause it's so cheesy. Wonder if it was considered as a series? doh.
